BH Cosmetics Blushed Neutrals Eyeshadow Palette and Contour & Blush Palette 2 Review

One of the things I hate the most is when I’m super excited for a palette (or any makeup) and I get it and it’s terrible. BH Cosmetics is not a brand I order from often but I will when something catches my eyes and they lower the free shipping minimum. A few weeks ago they had a sale and I ordered the Blushed Neutrals Eyeshadow Palette for $14.00 and the Contour & Blush Palette 2 for $5.00. They also threw in the Nude Rose Nightfall Palette for free but I don’t feel I’ve tried it enough to review it yet. There’s a lot of good, bad and ugly with these palettes so settle in and I’ll tell you my experience.

Blushed Neutrals 26 Shadow Palette

I was very, very disappointed with this palette. I’ve been looking at this palette for months, watched a ton of reviews and then decided to buy it. I’m honestly not sure how this has so many good reviews because it’s pretty bad, in my opinion. My main issue is the shades are nowhere near as vibrant as they look on the website and a lot of them look the same on the eyes. I could work with that but these shades are not pigmented at all. They swatch pretty good but they do not show up on the eye with a dry brush. If you wanted to make these work you would have to use water or setting spray and even then they’re not great.  The blushes were a little better. I especially liked the second and third from the left. I thought about keeping the palette just for that but honestly I would rather sell this and get the Colourpop She Palette that has similar colors and from what I’ve heard, better quality. This palette also has a ton of fallout and kick up. Overall, it’s just not one I would ever recommend.

Contour & Blush Palette 2

This palette was an impulse purchase because I was trying to reach the free shipping minimum. I didn’t expect much from it but I actually like it. These colors are not suitable for my skin tone as far as contouring goes but I don’t contour as it is. The top row, far right is a very pretty matte peach blush on me. The other shades I haven’t been using as much but I did try the white under my eyes and it settled terribly into my fine lines. I also tried the dark brown as an eyeshadow and it was just way too muddy looking. The white and dark brown shades are very chalky and just the worst in the palette. I am going to keep this palette because it was just $5.00 and that one peach blush is worth that price. This is in their last chance clearance section so if you like it I would grab it before it’s gone.

The colors blend with my skin but they’re there.

Certain brands are just very hit or miss. BH Cosmetics is notorious for coming out with amazing products and then coming out with just utter garbage. I was just not very impressed with my order from BH this time. I would love to hear your opinions. Have you tried either of these palettes? Did they work for you? Thank you for reading and have a great day!
