The Catrice Cosmetics Liquid Camouflage Concealer is perhaps one of the most hyped affordable concealers in the Youtube/review world. It’s only $5.99 and is highly recommended by big Youtubers like Tati and KathleenLights. I had been curious about it for awhile so I decided to throw it into an Ulta order. As with most things, it has it’s pros and cons which I will list for you. I have combo skin that tends to be more dry with hormonal acne. It’s very difficult for me to find good foundations and concealers so hopefully this review will help you if your skin is similar.
- Waterproof, this held up through working out at the gym.
- Does not crease into fine lines.
- Buildable coverage
- Looked great over my NYX BB Cream.
- Abysmal shade range, three shades only.
- Strong, perfume like scent.
- Looks cakey on acne.
- Looked very heavy and cakey over my Lalafox foundation.
- If I didn’t use a sponge to blend this it just looked awful.
As you can tell, this concealer is good but not good for everyone. It is a shade too dark for me but I’m able to make it work. If you’re lighter than me or have a deeper skin tone than just tan you can forget this working for you. It’s ridiculous that in 2018 that EVERY skin tone isn’t represented.
I did not like this at all on my acne or acne scars. One layer looked okay but if I tried to build it up it immediately got cakey and made my acne more noticeable. However, this is the best concealer I’ve ever tried under my eyes. It did not crease and even with it being a shade too dark it still lightended under my eyes. I applied three coats of this and still didn’t have creasing. It also didn’t crease in the lines around my mouth and it covered up the redness under my nose well. Like I mentioned above, this concealer looked good over my NYX BB Cream but terrible over my more full coverage Lalafox foundation.
I wear my concealer on top of my foundation but for these pictures I put it on my bare skin so you could see my acne and the coverage. This is one layer of concealer and you can still see some redness poking through but the coverage is pretty good. For my skin, I need about two to three layers when I’m having a very bad skin day.
If you have skin redness, dark circles or discoloration then I think this concealer would work well for you. If you’re dealing with acne or textured skin this concealer might work for you but just be careful not to use too much. If you’re sensitive to scents this is definitely not for you because the smell is pretty strong and it does linger. I’m going to keep using this for my dark circles and redness but I’ll continue to use my NYX HD Concealer for my acne. Have you tried this concealer before? What is your favorite, affordable concealer? Let me know! Thanks for reading and have a great day!
