Mini e.l.f. Haul with Reviews: Sheer Matte Liquid Lipstick, Matte Liquid Lipstick, Glitter Liner & Ultra Precise Brow Pencil

I’ve had a few products from e.l.f. Cosmetics just floating around my collection for months and it’s time to finally get them reviewed. There’s a pretty even split of hits and misses between them so let’s get into the reviews!

I’ve tried almost all of e.l.f.’s lipstick formulas but I hadn’t tried their Sheer Matte Liquid Lipsticks or their Matte Liquid Lipsticks. Both are $5.00 apiece and have a triangle shaped applicator that makes precise application very easy. In the Sheer Matte formula, I bought the shade Pink Peony. It’s pictured above on the left and is a GORGEOUS pinky coral color. The formula is more on the sheer side, as the name implies, but two layers gave me full opacity. Of course, with one layer you would have a pretty blotted look. The formula is matte but it’s very comfortable. It is pretty transfer resistant and holds up well if just drinking but it doesn’t last through eating. However, unlike most matte lipsticks, it’s easy to reapply without looking cakey. It is very similar to the Colourpop Satin Matte Lipsticks. I definitely recommend this formula.

Now for the one I don’t recommend… In the Matte formula, I bought the shade Black Out, pictured above on the right. This is honestly the WORST lipstick formula I’ve ever tried. It’s extremely dry, cracks almost immediately and completely wears away when eating. It’s bad enough that I’m not sure how it passed inspection so don’t waste your $5.00 on this.

The Stardust Glitter Eyeliner is $4.00 and I have the shade Shimmering Gold. I like this but I’m not in love with it. It’s very easy to apply, which is a major plus for me because I’m not the best with liquid liner. It has a brush tip applicator that is small and precise. My main issue with it is that I have to go over and over the line for it to really show up. It’s not the most opaque but it can be built up. It does have beautiful glitter in it but the glitter got in my lashes which was annoying. This did not burn or irritate my eyes, though, like a lot of e.l.f.’s glitter products do. I think this is good and if you’re looking for something like it, I recommend it.

I had been using the Instant Lift Brow Pencil that’s just $2.00, it’s the white one on the left and also in Neutral Brown. I expected to love the newer and more precise version more but sadly, I don’t. It’s TOO precise. My brows are pretty full on their own and I just have to fill in a few gaps. With the Precise Brow Pencil, it took me forever to fill in the gaps because the pencil is so small. The formula is fine but I honestly couldn’t tell a difference between it and the Instant Lift Brow Pencil. If you need something very small and precise than the newer one will be for you but I’m planning to stick with my reliable $2.00 brow pencil.

That’s everything new I have from e.l.f. as of right now. I’d love to know if you found this review helpful or if you’ve tried any of these products! Thanks for reading and have a great day!
