*Everything is not pictured together because I had placed two separate orders. I had already finished the pictures for the first order and didn’t want to redo it because the pretty imprint on the Super Shock products had been wiped away.

Colourpop is a brand that I’ve dabbled in but I’ve never religiously bought their products like some people do. I decided I really wanted to try a few different things and see what all the hype is about. I found some new holy grails and some major fails (yes, I meant for that to rhyme). I will be splitting everything into sections so you can go right to what you’re interested in. Let’s get right into the reviews because this is going to be lengthy!

Ultra Glossy & Satin Lips

I bought an Ultra Glossy Lip in the shade Wolfie, pictured above in the top two pictures. Wolfie is described on the website as being a metallic, rich, rosy pink with a gold shift. I do find that description to be accurate, Colourpop’s descriptions usually are. The Ultra Glossy Lips are $7.00. This was my first time ever trying a gloss from Colourpop and I really enjoyed it. It claims to be non-sticky and that is accurate. This is a very comfortable gloss with full, opaque coverage. It lasted about as long as any gloss does but it did leave a pretty berry colored stain on my lips. My only complaint is with the applicator. It has a brush tip applicator, which I LOATHE. It is so hard to get an accurate application and honestly, it makes no sense for the glosses to have a brush tip because all of their other lip products have a doe foot. I like this gloss but I’m not sure I want to purchase another at $7.00, especially when I hate the applicator. Whether I recommend this or not would just be based on your personal preferences.

Next up, I bought an Ultra Satin Lip in the shade Point Zero, pictured above in the bottom two pictures. Point Zero is described as a cool tone, grey/brown. I do think that description is accurate but to me, it leans more brown than grey. The Ultra Satin Lips are $7.00. I have tried this formula in the past and really didn’t like it. I felt it was too drying and the color in the tube didn’t match how it looked on the lips. I still feel the same about one of those points. I no longer think that the formula is too dry. It was very comfortable on my lips and felt tacky. It’s not dry like a matte but neither is it moisturizing like a cream. It has decent lasting power but does need to be touched up after eating or drinking. It’s also not transfer proof. Unfortunately, the color did oxidize. It always looked a shade darker on my lips, which is fine, but just something to note. My main issue with this lipstick, however, is the smell. It reeks of chemicals. I’ve only had this lipstick for maybe two months, so it’s not expired. Between the scent, $7.00 price tag and oxidization, I doubt I’ll purchase another. Again, like with the gloss, I recommend this if it sounds like something you would like because it wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t great either.

Super Shock Blush & Highlighter

I had never tried any of the Super Shock Blushes or Highlighters but I know that people SWEAR by them. All of the Super Shock products have a cream formula that dries down to a powder finish. I decided to buy the most popular highlighter, Flexitarian, and a pretty pink blush, Thumper. Both are $8.00 apiece. Flexitarian is described as an intense white champagne and Thumper is described as a cool toned, bubble gum pink. Guys… I just do not get the hype. I did not like either of these, especially Thumper. I applied each of them on just my bare foundation and then on another day, on top of my foundation with powder. No matter how I applied these they absolutely destroyed my makeup. They caused my foundation to break apart and I would have to put a powder product on top of them or my face would look awful. In the picture above I’m wearing Flexitarian and Thumper but Flexitarian is lightly topped with the e.l.f. Cosmetics Coco Glow Highlighter in Moon Glow and Thumper is topped with the J. Cat Beauty Blush in Sweet Pea Pink. I literally could not wear these by themselves. I also could only apply them with my fingers, which I hate. I assumed I would be able to apply them with a damp sponge, like other cream products, but they wouldn’t pick up on a sponge at all. I could somewhat apply Flexitarian with a brush but I could only get Thumper to apply with my fingers. I am in the minority but I do NOT think these are worth the money at all. They are a hassle and just not the best formula. I recommend you go with the e.l.f. highlighter and J. Cat blush I mentioned above.

Super Shock Eyeshadow & Eyeshadow Single

I had tried a Super Shock Eyeshadow before and really didn’t like it but when I saw Fizz, I had to give it a try. Fizz is described as a neon green with multidimensional shimmer. I really don’t agree with that description. I wanted a neon green but Fizz is a pastel green with gold shimmer. It’s a lovely shade, just not what I wanted. You can see it in the pictures above on my eyelids. The Super Shock Eyeshadows are $6.00. I know most people apply the Super Shock products with their fingers but I hate doing that so I used my e.l.f. Cosmetics Cream Eyeshadow Brush and it worked perfectly. I’m disappointed, however, because I can no longer find that brush online and I’m assuming it’s been discontinued. Now that I’ve figured out how best to apply them, I might buy a few more Super Shocks in the future but they would never be something I owned a ton of. If you buy Fizz, just be aware that you’re not getting an awesome neon green.

I bought an eyeshadow single in the shade Lost and Found because I wanted a matte sky blue. The singles are $4.50 apiece and they are larger than the pan sizes in the palettes. I think this is a beautiful eyeshadow with a good formula. It was easy to blend and had little to no fallout. It could be packed on for a very intense blue or blended out to look more pastel. I’m wearing it in my crease and on my lower lash line in the pictures above. I recommend this eyeshadow if you’re looking for a good sky blue.

It’s My Pleasure Eyeshadow Palette

The It’s My Pleasure Eyeshadow Palette is the first palette from Colourpop to catch my eye in a long time. It’s $12.00 for nine shades; three mattes, one matte with micro glitter and five shimmer/duochrome shades. I absolutely love this palette but it does have some issues. I’ll let you know all the pros and cons and then show you three eye looks I made just using this palette!

Pros:

• If you love pinky purples then this is the palette for you.
• All of the shimmers are gorgeous but the shades Do or Dough and Earthshine are just magical. Both have blue and pink glitter that just doesn’t show up well in pictures. They are the two duochromes in the palette.
• All of the mattes blend easily.
• All of the shades are pigmented, except Earthshine but it’s more of a topper shade.

Cons:

• Pretty Cruel is a matte with micro glitter, which I hate. The glitter does blend away, however, so you can use this shade as a matte.
• All of the shimmers have pretty intense fallout. This is especially a problem with Chick Lit and since it’s a dark purple, it will stain. I recommend wetting your brush.

Eyeshadow Looks

I used only this palette to create these looks except for a cream eyeshadow that I used to set my primer. I will go in the order of the swatches on my hand, left to right and top to bottom. You can click on each picture to see it better. I’ve also started including close ups of the eye look because I think that will be more helpful.

I loved this simple look. I had no issues with any of these shades.

1. I blended Kittenfish all above my natural crease.
2. I then blended Fan Fiction in my crease and up into Kittenfish.
3. I then applied Bare Minimum onto my eyelid.
4. Then I applied Earthshine on top of Bare Minimum on the innermost part of my eyelid and in my inner corner. You can really see how Earthshine transforms whatever shade it’s on top of compared to how it looks by itself.
5. I lined my lower lash line with Sleeper.

I like this look but it’s not favorite. You can see in the swatches just how bad the shade Chick Lit is.

1. I blended Pretty Cruel all above my natural crease.
2. I then blended Fan Fiction into my crease and up into Pretty Cruel.
3. I applied Mr. Sandman over the innermost part of my eyelid, Bare Minimum in the center of my eyelid and Chick Lit on the outermost part of my eyelid.
4. I applied Earthshine in the inner corner.
5. I lined my lower lash line with Pretty Cruel and smudged Fan Fiction underneath it.

I really love this look and it might be my favorite that I created.

1. I blended Kittenfish all above my natural crease.
2. I then blended Fan Fiction in my crease and up into Kittenfish.
3. I deepened the crease with Sleeper.
4. I applied Bare Minimum on the outermost part of my eyelid and Do or Dough on the innermost part of my eyelid.
5. I applied Earthshine in the inner corner.
6. I lined my lower lash line with Sleeper.

If this looks like a color story you would enjoy then I recommend this palette. I absolutely love it, even with its’ flaws.

That is everything I have for this very lengthy Colourpop review! I’ve came to the conclusion that their powder eyeshadows are what I need to stick to. There’s really nothing else from the brand that I can’t find a cheaper and better alternative for.
