Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator & Color Luster Lipgloss- Are They Worth the Splurge?

thumbnail (91)

I’ve been seeing rumors around the internet that Laura Geller is going out of business. I’m not sure if that’s true or not but I do know that a lot of their products are now at TJ Maxx. That is where I bought this duo for just $7.00, an absolute steal. They came in a box set that contained a Baked Gelato Illuminator and Color Luster Lip Gloss Hi-Def Top Coat, both in Diamond Dust. The highlighter at full price is $26.00 and the lip gloss is $19.00. So, are they worth those high prices?

As with most higher priced items, I don’t think these are worth the price tag. The Baked Gelato Illuminator in Diamond Dust has a white base with an intense pink shift. It’s a smooth baked formula that doesn’t cling to texture and it is PIGMENTED. This highlighter is not for those wanting a subtle glow. Overall, it’s a great highlighter but it’s just not worth $26.00. The packaging is very cheap, the exact same as the Makeup Revolution highlighters. This highlighter also contains 0.35 ounces/10 grams of product while the full price highlighters on the website only contain 0.16 ounces/4.5 grams. I definitely have other highlighters that are just as pigmented and intense; like the BH Cosmetics Spotlight and Blacklight Highlighter Palettes. A couple other great options are the Milani Strobelight Instant Glow Powders or the Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighters.

As for the Color Luster Lip Gloss Hi-Def Top Coat in Diamond Dust, it’s a beautiful clear lip gloss with a ton of pink glitter throughout. It’s not sticky but you can slightly feel the glitter while wearing it. Again, like with the highlighter, this isn’t a bad product, it’s just not worth $19.00. It’s a clear lip gloss with glitter… you can get those from almost any affordable brand at Ulta.

In my opinion, these are not worth the splurge but they’re definitely worth the discounted price I paid for them. If you’re interested in Laura Geller, check your local TJ Maxx or Marshalls because mine was well stocked. Have you tried these products before? Would you pay that much for them? Let me know! Thanks for reading and have a great day!
