Covergirl Lash Blast Fusion Mascara Review

To be totally honest, I find mascara reviews and mascara in general to be really boring. That is why I rarely ever review mascara and if I do it’s mixed in with other reviews. However, I didn’t have any other reviews to pair this one with so the Covergirl Lash Blast Fusion gets its own dedicated review.

The Covergirl Lash Blast Fusion in Very Black is the mascara I’ve been using exclusively for the past few months. I don’t like to use multiple mascaras at one time because they expire so quickly. This mascara is around $6.00 at WalMart; it’s not available at Ulta for some reason. You get 0.44 fluid ounces of product. I’ve never included the amount of product for mascaras before but as I was shopping for a new one, I noticed that some mascaras give a VERY small amount so I plan to start including that in my reviews.

I like this mascara but I’m not in love with it. It claims to give volume and length. I DO think it does both of those things but I’ve realized that I really don’t care for volumizing mascaras. I have pretty thick and long lashes on my own so any extra volume can look clumpy. One layer of this mascara doesn’t quite give the length I want but two or more layers can clump my lashes together. It’s not my favorite formula but it’s not bad and if you have short or sparse lashes this will probably be a great mascara for you. I did not buy the waterproof version but I had no issues with this smearing or flaking. It is more of a wet formula, which I don’t care for, but it does dry quickly.

As I said above, I’ve been using this mascara for the past few months so every look I’ve created has included it but here are two of them. It definitely doesn’t look bad but it’s just not quite what I want. I do, however, really like the Covergirl Lash Blast Volume Mascara. It claims to be volumizing as well but it doesn’t make my lashes clumpy and it really lengthens them.

I think the difference in lengthening abilities between the Lash Blast Fusion (purple tube) and Lash Blast Volume (orange tube) are pretty apparent. For my lashes, I prefer the Volume version because of the extra length.

If you’ve been searching for a new mascara, I hope this review helped you out. I’m currently testing NYX Cosmetics’ newest mascara formula, On the Rise Volume Liftscara. That review will be up in a few months. Let me know if this review helped you or what your favorite mascara is! Thanks for reading and have a great day!
