Where I’ve Been: Meet My Son!

After reading the title of this post, I’m sure you’re a little confused. Yes, I do have a son now but no, I was not pregnant… I couldn’t hide something like that for nine months! Before I introduce you to my baby boy, I need to talk about how all of this came to be.

If you’ve been following me for awhile, you’re probably aware that I suffer with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOs). That, along with other issues, has prevented my husband and myself from getting pregnant for five years. We can have biological children, according to our doctors, but it will take more time and effort than it does for most people. We knew that adoption might be something we would have to pursue in the future but for the time being, we were content to simply be as healthy as possible and pursue medical options, such as IUI. Through it all, however, we kept praying.

We are Christians and we believe that God’s timing is perfect. We knew that we were going through infertility for a reason. That didn’t make it any easier to bear but it did give us peace. On August 4th, 2020 we finally understood why we had to wait. We were waiting for him…

I would like to introduce my son, Samuel Isaiah. Out of respect for my son and everyone involved, I’m going to keep the details of his adoption pretty private. What I can say is it was a totally unexpected blessing that we had no idea was coming. Our sweet boy isn’t home yet so for the past two weeks we’ve been running like crazy to prepare for a baby; in a MUCH smaller time frame than most people get. I’ve missed my blog but there just aren’t enough hours in the day. So, what does this mean for The Book and Beauty Blog?

Well, I’ve never been a mom before so I’m not sure. I love this blog too much to give it up and I do plan to continue it in some capacity. As of right now, my goal is to post on Fridays throughout the rest of August and September. I’m not pressuring myself to post anything, though, so there will probably be times when nothing goes up. I would like to come back on a regular basis in October and post on Mondays and Fridays. This whole schedule is fully dependent on my son, however. I don’t want to add stress to myself or not fully enjoy his small baby months.

I do not plan to become a “mommy blogger” but I am a mom… with a blog, lol. Before my son’s adoption, I was already adding more lifestyle posts so anything baby related will fall into that category. I do fully understand if that isn’t interesting to some of you.

Final Thoughts:

While I totally understand if you leave, I hope that you all will stick around for this new chapter of my life. If there is any particular baby or mom content you want to see, let me know! Thanks for reading and have a great day!
