Modern+Chic Reviews: Alexa Oversized Clutch & Harper 2 Wallet

I’m doing something a little different today and FINALLY reviewing some of my bags from Modern+Chic. I’ve been talking about doing these reviews for months but other things kept getting in the way. I have quite a few items from them so I’m planning to sprinkle in these reviews randomly. First, though, let’s talk about the brand in general.

Modern+Chic is an online boutique that I discovered through a Facebook ad. I bought one bag, loved it and proceeded to buy way too many more. Most of their products are cruelty free, either vegan leather or another material, but not all of them. Their prices range from very affordable to more expensive but nothing is over $100. They do have frequent sales, like Markdown Monday, and you can always find a discount code. Speaking of which, after posting about the bags I bought, they allowed me to join their affiliate program and gave me a discount code. My code is KARA20 and if you use it, you’ll receive 20% off your purchase and I’ll receive a small amount of money from the sale. If you do choose to use my code, I really appreciate it.

I wanted to start this series of reviews with my two smallest, but most used, items from the brand. First is the Alexa Oversized Clutch. It is $18.00 and mine is in the color Olive; there are a variety of colors to choose from. The outer material is vegan leather and the inner material is soft cloth. This clutch doesn’t feel cheap or plastic-y. It has a zipper closure, an inner pocket with a zipper and two open inner pockets. It also has a loop for your wrist so you don’t have to just hold the actual clutch.

This clutch is absolutely perfect for so many different things. I’ve personally used it as a makeup/shower bag and in my son’s diaper bag. It’s big enough to hold two full size shampoo and conditioner bottles plus a few other toiletries. I also love using it when I just need to run an errand with my son because it’s plenty big enough to hold a bottle, some diapers, wipes and extra baby clothes. It would be great for travel, as well. I really want another one in a different color but I’m trying to stay strong and resist… Anyways, if you’re looking for a large clutch or travel bag, this one is great.

Next up is the Harper 2 Keychain Bracelet + Wallet Combo. It is regularly $23.00 but has been on sale for $10.00 for a few months. I’m not sure if it’s being discontinued but as of right now, it’s still in stock. I have it in the color Brown and there were quite a few colors to choose from but right now, there’s only two options available. This wallet and keychain combo is made from vegan leather but it has a more sturdy, plastic feel to it. It has slots for two cards and then a driver license/ID. It comes with a tassel keychain that can be removed but the loop for your wrist can not.

I love this little wallet so much and use it all the time. I refuse to carry both a purse and a diaper bag so I combine them. The bag is always packed and to save space, I use this wallet over my larger one. It’s also great if you’re just running to the store and don’t want to carry a full purse. At $10.00, this is a steal and I really hope they restock the other colors.

Final Thoughts:

I have been really impressed with this brand. Their products are high quality and trendy without being stupidly expensive. The next bag I plan to review is the one I bought first, the McKell Backpack. Since I am new to doing these kind of reviews, feel free to let me know how I can improve them. I’m still trying to figure out what information and pictures are the most helpful. I’d love to know if you’ve bought anything from Modern+Chic and what you thought! Thanks for reading and have a great day!
