Makeup Revolution Festive Allure Collection Reviews- Part One

44

Last week I reviewed the Makeup Revolution x Shrek holiday collection. I really liked it and thought it was a fun release but I do understand that Shrek themed makeup isn’t for everybody. If that’s you but you still want affordable holiday makeup, the Makeup Revolution Festive Allure collection might be perfect. I’ve decided to split these reviews up and today I’m going to share everything but the eyeshadow palette. I need a bit more time to test the palette so that review will be up next week. Let’s talk about the lippies first!

The Ceramide Shimmer Lip Swirls are $7.00 apiece and available in two shades, Glitz Nude and Out Out Red. Glitz Nude is a peach with gold shimmer and Out Out Red is a red with red shimmer. Both glosses are opaque but Glitz Nude is basically the same color as my lips. I really love both of them but as far as a holiday gloss, Out Out Red is my favorite.

The formula of these glosses is hydrating with a slightly tacky finish. They’re not sticky but still manage to hang around on the lips for quite awhile. I had no issues with Out Out Red transferring on to my teeth or out of the lip line. I love having a red lip during the holidays but I don’t usually want to deal with lipstick so this gloss is perfect. I highly recommend both of these.

The Festive Allure Highlighter is $7.00. It has a marbled appearance with gold, bronze and pink swirls. When mixed, it creates a peachy champagne color. It isn’t a deep shade but it might not work for very fair skin tones. The formula is smooth with no glitter and it gives a truly beautiful glow. It’s one of my current favorites. My only complaint is with the packaging. It feels very cheap but that’s not a huge deal for me. If this color will work for you, I recommend it.

The Festive Allure Body Mist is $10.00 and you get 7.98 fluid ounces of product. I don’t typically review body mists or perfumes but I wanted to talk about this one. The website says that it has a combination of floral notes with centifolia rose at its heart, complemented by a base of tender woods, vanilla and musk for a sophisticated floral scent. I agree with that description but I can’t smell the vanilla. I personally love the scent but I don’t think everybody will. It is a more “mature” smell that is very close to being considered old lady like😂 I was worried that it would be too strong but the scent does fade. This isn’t the most long lasting body spray I’ve ever used but I could still smell it on my clothes at the end of the day. I really like it and wouldn’t mind having a perfume in this scent.

Final Thoughts:

I am very happy with this collection so far but I still need to test the palette. Let me know if you plan to pick any of these products up. Thanks for reading and have a great day!
