Makeup Revolution Festive Allure Collection Reviews- Part Two

44Last week I reviewed the majority of the Makeup Revolution Festive Allure Holiday Collection and you can read that here. I didn’t want that post to be too long so today I’m going to finish things up with my thoughts on the Festive Allure Eyeshadow Palette. This collection has been better than I even expected it to be but I did have a couple of issues with the palette so let’s talk about it.
33The Festive Allure Eyeshadow Palette is $14.00 but it’s currently on sale and probably will be for the rest of the year. This palette contains twenty shades: eight mattes, nine shimmers and three putty shimmers. The packaging is very sturdy and has a nice weight to it. It has a full mirror and clasp closure. This is a personal preference but I don’t love the mismatched pan sizes. The rows on the top and bottom are about the size of a nickel while the middle row is more of an average pan size.

😄Pros:

  • I love the cool toned color story of this palette. I feel this is a more unique holiday palette release.
  • I enjoyed the putty shimmer shades much more than I expected to. I hadn’t used a formula like that before but I found them to be easy to work with. You do have to use a finger but they look pretty on the eyes. I used them more as toppers but I had no issues with them creasing or fading.
  • The mattes all blended beautifully with little fall out.
  • The shimmers all performed great. Lustre and Divine are especially pretty.
  • The shade Enchanted makes a GORGEOUS cool toned pink blush and the shade Grunge is a fantastic icy highlight. I used these two shades on my face in the second look I created

😣Cons:

  • The shades Mauve, Lustre and Luminous are too similar. They each have a different base but all three are packed with blue shimmer.
  • The shade Blushed is useless. It’s almost identical to Golden Hour but Golden Hour is more pigmented.
  • Mauve is very hard pressed. It has a deep purple base with blue shimmer but it doesn’t give much pay off on the eyes.
  • I wish this palette had less sheer topper shades and more regular shimmers or mattes.

Swatches & Shade Descriptions:
These eyeshadows do have names but no shade descriptions so I will describe them to the best of my ability. I’ll be going from left to right, top row to bottom row. These photos were taken with flash to show off the sparkle.

    Eyeshadow Looks:
I created two looks using this palette. I don’t typically wear an eye primer but I do always set my base. In the last look, I’m wearing the shades Enchanted as a blush and Grunge as a highlighter. Also, the second look was WAY prettier in person. I could not get my camera to capture the shifts and all the blue shimmer. It was a beautiful icy look, in my opinion.
  1. I set my base with Opulence.
  2. I blended Romantic into my crease.
  3. I deepened my crease with Sublime. I also used the shade on my lower lash line.
  4. I applied Diamond on my lid.
  5. I applied Bliss on top of Diamond on the inner half of my lid.
  6. I applied Golden Hour in my inner corner.
  7. I smudged Desire on my lower lash line.
  1. I set my base with Opulence.
  2. I blended Evening above my crease.
  3. I blended Smoke into my inner crease.
  4. I blended Dusk into my outer crease and applied it on my water line.
  5. I applied Glam on the outer part of my lid.
  6. I applied Tease in the middle of my lid and lightly on top of Glam.
  7. I applied Divine on the inner part of my lid.
  8. I applied Mauve on top of Tease and Glam.
  9. I applied Luminous on top of Divine.
  10. I applied Lustre in my inner corner.
  11. I smudged Seductive on my lower lash line.
  12. I applied Blushed on my brow bone.

If you are curious about any of the other products on my face, you can find these looks in my recent posts on Instagram.

Final Thoughts:
This isn’t my all time favorite palette but if you’re looking for an affordable, cool toned option, I recommend it. It has plenty of pretty sparkly shades that are just so fun to use this time of year! I’d love to know what you think about this holiday collection. Thanks for reading and have a great day!
