Merry Christmas! Let’s Review the Give Me Glow Christmas Morning Eyeshadow Palette🎄

31

I tried Give Me Glow Cosmetics for the first time a few months ago and fell in love. Their Haunted Pumpkin Eyeshadow Palette is an absolute favorite so of course, I had to keep the holiday theme going and get the Christmas Morning Eyeshadow Palette. Unfortunately and surprisingly, this one fell a bit short.

The Christmas Morning Eyeshadow Palette is $34.00 and contains eight shades: four mattes, three metallics and one duochrome. This palette is large and sturdy. It has cardboard packaging with a mirror and a firm magnetic closure. Let’s talk pros and cons because I have a lot to say.

😄Pros:

  • I’m so in love with the theme and packaging! Those aspects don’t really matter but I’ve learned that I get more joy out of using my makeup if it has a special theme or packaging.
  • The metallics are all beautiful, though I did have a few issues. The shade Gifts Galore has a red brown base with a blue flip that is very pretty.
  • All but one of the mattes performed well. They blended easily and I had no issues with fallout.

😣Cons:

  • While the shade Gifts Galore is pretty, I was slightly disappointed with it. A red brown base with a blue flip is nothing new in the world of duochromes and I really wanted this shade to look like it does in the pan. That green color doesn’t show up at all.
  • The fallout from the metallics was just horrific. I did NOT have that issue with the Haunted Pumpkin Palette so it surprised me, and not in a good way.
  • The shade Cozy Fire blends out to be a very meh, desaturated red color. It’s not vibrant and I don’t feel that it goes well with the other shades in the palette.
  • The shade Chimney was a bit difficult to blend and looked patchy.
  • The shade Stocking Stuffers would absolutely disappear off my lids. I had to pack it on with a wet brush and barely blend it or it would be gone. The fallout was also so, so bad.

Swatches & Shade Descriptions:

These eyeshadows do have names but no shade descriptions so I will describe them to the best of my ability. I’ll be going from left to right, top row to bottom row. These photos were taken with flash to show off the sparkle.

Eyeshadow Looks:

I created three looks using this palette but I did have to pull in a highlighter to use in my inner corner for the last look. I don’t always wear an eye primer but I do set my base with a cream colored shadow. I like all of these looks but none were easy to accomplish because of the fallout.

  1. I blended Cozy Fire into my crease.
  2. I deepened my crease with Chimney. I also applied it on my water line.
  3. I applied Gifts Galore on my lid.
  4. I applied Santa’s Sleigh in my inner corner.
  5. I smudged Stocking Stuffers on my lower lash line.

If you are curious about any of the other products on my face, you can find these looks in my recent posts on Instagram.

Final Thoughts:

I’m surprised that I’m saying this but I don’t recommend this palette. The Haunted Pumpkin is a newer release so I’m assuming it has an improved formula. After trying this palette, I have no desire to buy any of the older Give Me Glow releases and if I would have tried this one first, I wouldn’t have purchased anything else. As always, let me know what you think and if you’re reading this the day it goes up, Merry Christmas! Thanks for reading and have a great day!
