Pure Magic✨ Erborian CC Red Correct Review

24

Never have I been so happy with something I bought on a whim than I am with the Erborian CC Red Correct. I picked this up for half off during an Ulta sale after reading the claims. This is a skincare makeup hybrid that claims to correct redness, adjust to your skin tone, blur texture, hydrate and provide luminous coverage. It also contains SPF 25. It does have a slight scent but it’s a very pleasant smell that I can’t quite describe. It has a pretty hefty price tag at $46.00 but you do get 1.5 fluid ounces of product; a more generous amount than most foundations. So, does it fulfill all of the claims and is it worth the money? Yes and yes.

I’m not sure how it works but as you can see above, this goes on to the skin green but blends out to match your skin tone. I wouldn’t say it’s a perfect match, however, because it does leave a slight white cast on the skin. I’m not sure if that’s because of the color correcting aspect or the SPF but I do have to use bronzer. That isn’t an issue for me but I’m not sure how this would work on someone with a deeper skin tone than mine. I’ll now show you how it looks on my face and share my experience with it.

My skin type is combo and I tend to get oily in my T zone. I struggle with acne and acne scarring. My acne scars do tend to stay red for quite awhile so that’s why this product intrigued me to begin with. It worked BEAUTIFULLY. The coverage is low to medium but I was able to get full coverage with concealer. In the pictures above with my makeup finished, I’m wearing no powder or concealer, just cream blush and bronzer. While this corrector doesn’t totally erase all redness, it gets pretty close. The coverage is also buildable to an extent and a little bit of product goes a long way.

It is very easy to apply with your fingers and feels like a moisturizer. I took it on vacation and it was the perfect choice. I was able to apply it quickly and it wore beautifully throughout a hot day outside, though I did set it with powder. If not set with powder, it can look oily but it doesn’t break down. It has a luminous finish but not what I would consider to be glowy or oily. It does crease into my smile line and the lines between my brows if not set but the creasing is very minimal and I’m able to simply blend it back out.

Final Thoughts:

As of right now, the CC Red Correct is irreplaceable in my collection and I would happily buy it again… even at full price. If you’ve read any of my other reviews, you’ll know I almost NEVER recommend paying full price. That proves how much I truly love this stuff. If you have fair skin and struggle with acne and redness, try this. Thanks for reading and have a great day!
