Possibly My Favorite Palette of 2024- Jolie Beauty Til Death Review🥀

45

For my birthday this year, I decided to buy a palette I had wanted since its release, the Jolie Beauty Til Death Eyeshadow Palette. I also picked up the brand’s Carnevil Palette and you can expect a review for it soon. This brand was completely new to me. I had never seen any reviews and was purely going off what I could see on the Jolie Beauty Instagram. They are a UK based indie brand with a decent sized following but for some reason, detailed reviews for their products are hard to find. So today, I’m here to fix that problem for the Til Death Eyeshadow Palette.

The Til Death Palette is $47.00 and shipping for me from the UK was $13.00. I made my purchase during a sale and also used a discount code so I was able to totally offset the shipping price. The shipping time was EXTREMELY fast; I got my order within five days. My order was also packaged well.

This palette contains twenty eighty shades and there are a variety of formulas within it. There are: nine mattes, nine metallics, one matte with glitter, one duochrome and eight foiled shimmers. It has cardboard packaging with a large mirror and a magnetic closure. Let’s get into the pros and cons!

❤Pros:

  • The packaging and theming for this palette are just perfection! I love anything to do with a Gothic love story🥀
  • Just like the packaging, the color story is perfect. The muted olives, grays, mauves and taupe browns speak to my soul. Out of all of my palettes, this color story is my favorite.
  • The mattes were so easy to work with. They were much less pigmented than I expected but not in a bad way. I was able to easily build them up and blend them effortlessly.
  • The metallics range from shiny to more of a satin finish and I enjoyed using them all. I experienced no fallout and the more satin finish ones could easily be used in place of a matte.
  • The foiled shimmers are some of the most intensely shiny and sparkly shadows I have ever used. There is NOTHING subtle about this formula.
  • I was concerned that in a palette this large there would be duplicate shades but there are not. There are a few that look similar in the pan but each one has a different finish or undertone.
  • After looking at all of the other Jolie Beauty palettes, I noticed they always include pressed glitters but this one does not have any.

💔Cons:

  • The glitter fallout from the foiled shimmers was EGREGIOUS. I truly have never experienced such bad fallout and the shimmer would stick wherever it landed. I tried all of the typical tricks. I used my finger, I used a wet brush and I made sure my finger/brush had no loose particles on it. Nothing I did made a difference and in fact, using these shadows wet caused them to crease away in patches. Don’t get me wrong, these shadows look beautiful on the eyes but it’s a pain to get them there. I recommend using a finger and applying a small amount at a time.
  • I found the duochrome shade, Soulmate, to be lackluster. It’s not a bad shadow, just nothing special.

Swatches & Shade Descriptions:

These eyeshadows do have names but no shade descriptions on the website so I will describe them to the best of my ability. I’ll be going from left to right, top row to bottom row. These photos were taken with flash to show off the sparkle.

I created four looks using this palette but I could have easily did more. My goal is always to use every shade in the palette and I did that with these looks but I will be doing more in the future. Final Thoughts:

While this palette isn’t absolutely perfect, it’s so beautiful that I’m willing to work with it. I wouldn’t reach for the foiled shimmer shades if I was in a hurry but other than that, this is a go to, staple for me. I’m very excited to dig into the Carnevil Palette next for spooky season🎪🤡 Let me know what you think about this palette and if you’ve tried anything from Jolie Beauty! Thanks for reading!
