Sydney Grace Love’s Journey Eyeshadow Palette Review

I have been in a MASSIVE eyeshadow slump. I don’t have as much time to use it as I once did and honestly, I just got bored. I have so many beautiful palettes, though, so to try and recapture my love, I decided to pull out my Sydney Grace Love’s Journey. This palette is so beautiful and definitely helped me remember why I love makeup.

Love’s Journey is $52.00 and has fifteen shades; nine mattes and six metallics. As with most of this brand’s palettes, this one is available in a light or a deep option and I chose the light. It has cardboard packaging with a firm magnetic closure and a mirror. I always love the art on Sydney Grace’s palettes and this one is no exception. The eyeshadow pans are also magnetic so you could easily depot them and put them into another palette.

Typically I share my pros and cons with palettes but I have no cons. This is a beautiful, versatile neutral color story. All of the mattes were excellent. They are easy to blend and build. The metallics were also incredible. They have a smooth formula so if you’re looking for a glittery finish, you won’t find that here, but I prefer this type of formula. I didn’t notice any fallout and was able to apply them easily with my finger. This is the perfect palette for people who prefer easy, simple makeup.

Swatches & Shade Descriptions:

These eyeshadows do have names but no shade descriptions so I will describe them to the best of my ability. I’ll be going from left to right, top row to bottom row. These photos were taken with flash to show off the sparkle.

Eyeshadow Looks:

I created three looks using this palette and while they’re not the most creative, I love them. I don’t always wear an eye primer but I do set my base with a cream colored shadow.

  1. I blended Dreamboat into my inner crease and used it to blend out the edges of the deeper shades.
  2. I deepened my crease with Us and applied it on my outer lid.
  3. I applied Only You on my lid.
  4. I applied Captivating on my inner lid and on my lower lash line.
  5. I applied Kisses and Wistful in my inner corner.
  6. I applied Wistful on my brow bone.
  7. I applied Fools in Love on my water line.

Final Thoughts:

I keep coming back to Sydney Grace because they have one of the most reliable formulas. It’s rare that I don’t love something from them. If you have a favorite from the brand, let me know what it is! Thanks for reading!
