I have a very long list of beauty brands I want to try and until recently, Sigma Beauty was high up on that list. Sometime at the end of 2024, I came across a fantastic sale for the brand so I picked up their Earthy and New Mod Eyeshadow Palettes. However, life got busy and I got burnt out on doing makeup so I hadn’t touched either palette until now. I decided to try out the smaller of the two first, Earthy.

Earthy is regularly $36.00 but as of right now, it’s only available on Amazon and is on sale for $18.00. Since it’s no longer on the Sigma Beauty website, I’m sure it’s being discontinued. This palette contains nine shades; four mattes, four metallics and one sheer topper. It has a cardboard packaging with a magnetic closure and no mirror. With the basic info out of the way, let’s talk pros and cons!
Pros:
- The matte formula is excellent. They are so easy to blend and build. I typically prefer shimmers to mattes but the mattes make this palette.
- All of the metallics but one are good. They do vary in how much shine they provide on the eyes, though. Will O Wisp is VERY metallic, Wanderlust is dull and the others fall somewhere in between.
- I really like this beautiful, earthy color story.
Cons:
- Wanderlust is the most dull metallic in the palette. It also creates quite a bit of fallout.
- The metallics overall are like any basic metallic formula. I don’t find them to be unique or even the best quality.
- Moss is a sheer topper with green and gold shimmer. It’s a pretty shade but I’m usually not a fan of sheer toppers, especially not in a palette that was $36.00. It feels like a waste of a shade.
Swatches & Shade Descriptions:
These eyeshadows do have names but no shade descriptions so I will describe them to the best of my ability. I’ll be going from left to right, top row to bottom row. These photos were taken with flash to show off the sparkle.

- Harmony– matte cream
- Will O Wisp– metallic pearl
- Fawns– matte tan
- Canyon– metallic copper
- Moss– sheer topper with green and gold shimmer
- Wild– metallic olive green with a gold reflect
- Sunbaked– matte mustard
- Wanderlust– metallic deep olive green with gold and silver shimmer
- Shadowy– matte deep ashy brown
Eyeshadow Looks:
I created two looks using this palette and I really love the first one but the second one is just okay. I don’t always wear an eye primer but I do set my base with a cream colored shadow.
- I set my base with Harmony.
- I blended Sunbaked all over my lid and up into my crease.
- I blended Fawns into my crease.
- I deepened my crease with Shadowy. I also applied it on my outer lid and on my water line.
- I applied Will O Wisp in my inner corner.
- I smudged Canyon on my lower lash line.
- I set my base with Harmony.
- I applied Wanderlust on my outer lid, blended it into my crease and smudged it on my lower lash line.
- I applied Wild on the rest of my lid.
- I applied Moss in my inner corner.
- I applied Will O Wisp on my brow bone.
If you are curious about any of the other products on my face, you can find these looks in my recent posts on Instagram.
Final Thoughts:
After trying Sigma Beauty for the first time, I can’t say that I’m impressed. Yes, the mattes are very good but for the price of this brand’s palettes, I expect EVERY shade to be perfect. However, I do still have to test out the New Mod Eyeshadow Palette and maybe that one will wow me. I’d love to know what you think about this brand! Thanks for reading!
