A few years ago, I bought the Nomad Cosmetics Hudson Valley Eyeshadow Palette. It had a beautiful color story but I greatly disliked the formula, especially the shimmers. I decided then that I wanted to wait a few years to purchase from the brand again so that hopefully their formula would improve. That time has arrived with the Ghost Town USA Eyeshadow Palette! I didn’t buy this when it first released but I couldn’t resist any longer. Everything from the theme, to the packaging, to the color story is just perfect. I was worried that this palette would be a dud as well but I am SO happy to say that I adore it.
The Ghost Town USA Palette is $49.00 and contains eighteen shades, nine mattes and nine shimmers. I love that there is an even mix of both formulas and I also love the imprints on each shadow. This palette has sturdy cardboard packaging with a large mirror and a magnetic closure. Nomad Cosmetics donates to a different charity cause with each purchase and this palette’s charity is The Peregrine Fund. Let’s get into the pros and cons!
Pros:
- I love the theme and packaging for this palette👻 I’m a history nerd and ghost towns are so fascinating to me.
- What influenced me most to buy this palette was the color story. I like that it leans more cool toned and muted. The mattes especially are unique to my collection; Skinner’s Saloon and Ghost Town are my favorites.
- The mattes performed beautifully. They were so easy to blend, build up and they had the perfect amount of pigment.
- The shimmers were also spectacular. They are high shine and sparkle but create almost no fallout. I especially loved Tombstone, Quicksilver, Rhyolite NV and Gold Rush.
Cons:
- I really have no true cons for this palette but if I had to pick one, I wish there was a light cool toned shade to use in the inner corner.

- I blended Calamity Jane from the middle to the outer half of my crease.
- I deepened my crease with Deadman’s Hand. I also applied it on the outer part of my lid.

Final Thoughts:
Since I enjoyed this palette so much, I decided to order their newest release, Witch City Salem. It’s taking quite awhile to ship to me but as soon as I get it, I will start testing it out! I’d love to know what you think about Ghost Town USA or any of Nomad’s other releases. Thanks for reading!
I love the little designs in the shadows – and the names – perfect for spooky season!
