When Nomad Cosmetics released their Witch City Salem Eyeshadow Palette, I HAD to pick it up. I love Halloween (I have a cat named Binx) and Salem is one of the main places I want to visit. I’m also a big history nerd so this was a must buy. I recently reviewed their Ghost Town USA Eyeshadow Palette and loved it so I had high hopes for this one. I’m very happy to say I enjoyed it just as much!
The Witch City Salem Palette is $54.00 and contains eighteen shades, nine mattes and nine shimmers. I love that there is an even mix of both formulas and I also love the imprints on each shadow. This palette has sturdy cardboard packaging with a large mirror and a magnetic closure. Nomad Cosmetics donates to a different charity cause with each purchase and this palette’s charity is Panthera. Let’s get into the pros and cons!
Pros:
- I love the theme and packaging🧙♀️ Salem was the perfect choice for a Halloween palette!
- This color story is simply Halloween in palette form. I don’t play around with color as much now but I love that there are more muted shades with some bright pops.
- The mattes performed beautifully. They were so easy to blend, build up and they had the perfect amount of pigment. I experienced no fallout, even with the deepest shades. I did experience staining with Devil’s Book and Witch City but that’s not a big deal to me.
- The shimmers were also spectacular. They are high shine and sparkly but create almost no fallout. I especially loved Witching Hour, Old Burying Point, Howling Halloween and Ropes Mansion.
Cons:
- The only slight con I can think of is the shade Salem Willows. Don’t get me wrong, it’s beautiful but I feel that Nomad puts some kind of chartreuse green in almost every palette.

Eyeshadow Looks:
I created three looks using this palette and I really like how each one turned out! I don’t typically wear an eye primer but I do set my base with a skin tone colored eyeshadow. I was having issues with some eye lid dryness and irritation so if you notice any patchiness, it’s not the fault of the eyeshadows.

Final Thoughts:
Since the last two palettes I have bought from Nomad Cosmetics have been so good, I will more than likely pick up their holiday release. They’re one of the few brands that are still releasing fun, creative makeup and I want to support that. If you’ve tried this palette, or any from the brand, let me know what you think. Thanks for reading!
