Fall makeup releases are always my favorite. Typical fall colors are what I usually wear so I’m always interested in the new makeup this time of year. A few new releases that I decided to pick up was the Flower Beauty Garden Lights Eyeshadow Palette and two of the Milani Nude Lip Oils. Let’s talk about the palette first!
The Garden Lights Palette is $20.00 and you get six metallic shades. The packaging is cheap plastic with no mirror. I also own the Jungle Lights Palette and when I bought it in 2022, it was $18.00. I criticized the price then for how cheap the packaging was so after a $2.00 price increase, I definitely think the packaging should be better.
As for the shadows themselves, they are gorgeous but I did have some issues. They feel very similar to a Colourpop Super Shock Shadow but thicker. I could not get them to apply with a brush at all and had to use my finger. They also create a ton of fallout if applied with a brush but even with a finger, I still had fallout. The lighter shades performed well but the deepest, Wildflower and Ivy, were a pain to work with. Don’t get me wrong, they’re beautiful colors but they do not blend well and tend to look muddy. This formula in general doesn’t blend well and that’s why I prefer the lighter shades. However, because this formula is so thick, even the lighter shades can look cakey and heavy on the lids and in the inner corners. I’ll finish up my thoughts after the shade descriptions and three looks I created.

The shade names and descriptions from top to bottom, left to right are:
- Sunlight- metallic light gold
- Petal- metallic light bronze
- Iris- metallic icy lavender
- Wildflower- metallic burgundy
- Bloom- metallic pink
- Ivy- metallic deep olive
Eyeshadow Looks:
I created three looks using this palette. I don’t hate any of them but the second one is my favorite. If I used one of the deeper shades, the look would turn out a bit more messy than I prefer. I did use a cream colored powder eyeshadow as a base for each look.

- I applied Wildflower over most of my lid and blended it up into the crease.
- I applied Bloom on the innermost part of my lid, put it in my inner corner and applied it on my water line.
- I smudged Ivy on my lower lash line.

- I applied Petal on my lid.
- I applied Sunlight in my inner corner.

- I applied Ivy on my lid and blended it into my crease. I also smudged it on my lower lash line.
- I applied Iris in my inner corner and on my water line.
Overall, this isn’t a bad palette but I do regret buying it. If it was cheaper, $15.00 or less, I would say that it’s worth it. I really love the four light shades and I do see myself using those. I doubt I’ll touch the deeper ones, though, because they’re just so messy. If I’m using a cream shadow, I typically want to be able to apply it quickly and go. I don’t want to deal with fallout or having to blend and blend and blend. I think whether or not this palette is worth buying will be purely based on your personal preferences and how much work you’re willing to put into eyeshadow application.
Unlike the Garden Lights Palette, I don’t regret buying the Milani Nude Fruit Fetish Lip Oils. I’ve used this formula before, in the shade Cherry Lime, and loved it so much that I finished the tube and repurchased it. These lip oils are $12.00 and I have the shades 160 Lychee Nectar and 190 Blackberry Agave. Lychee Nectar is a mauve pink and Blackberry Agave is a berry toned brown. Lychee Nectar is the most pigmented of the two, which surprised me. I’m wearing it in the picture below without my glasses.
Like the original formula, these claim to deliver instant hydration and a glossy, not sticky, shine with a subtle tint of color. They also contain fruit extracts and Vitamin E to hydrate lips. They’re packaged in a typical gloss tube with a large doe foot applicator. I would say the texture of this oil is more gloss like and it actually lasts on the lips for quite awhile, especially if applied on top of another product.
My only complaints are with the scent and pigmentation. They both have sickly sweet, fruity scents that I’m not crazy about and I wish both were a bit more pigmented. However, I still love these lip oils and recommend them.
Final Thoughts:
I hope these reviews were helpful if you were thinking about buying these new releases. I’d love to know what you think about them if you’ve tried them. Thanks for reading and have a great day!

Jen Phelps on YouTube did some great swatches of that one. It’s very pretty and I kind of wish I would’ve gotten it because it’s mainly light shades and I find those easier to work with in this formula.

I bet it would be deep cool toned colors like grays and blacks. It would probably be beautiful but I would skip.

I do need to find my perfect black and grey palette . I love using those shades along with pewters too . I tried the Urban Decay Naked Metal Mania , and while it had a black and ashy grey brown , they just didn’t blend that well .
