I wouldn’t say that Milani is a favorite brand of mine, but I do almost always love their lip products. It had been awhile since I had tried anything so I decided to pick up a Fruit Fetish Lip Oil and Bold Color Statement Matte Lipstick. As expected, I really liked both of them. I especially enjoyed the Lip Oil so let’s talk about it first!
The Fruit Fetish Lip Oil is $11.00 and I have the shade 140 Cherry Lime; a cherry red. It claims to deliver instant hydration and a glossy, not sticky, shine with a subtle tint of color. It also contains fruit extracts and Vitamin E to hydrate lips. It’s packaged in a typical gloss tube with a large doe foot applicator.
This was my first experience with a lip oil and I absolutely loved it. It does everything that it claims to do. My only slight complaint is that I wish it was slightly more tinted. I have what is currently the deepest shade and it barely has any pigment. I can’t really fault it, though, because it doesn’t claim to be pigmented. I would say the texture of this oil is more gloss like and it actually lasts on the lips for quite awhile, especially if applied on top of another product. I do wish it was cheaper and recommend waiting for a sale but overall this is a fantastic lip product.
The Bold Color Statement Matte Lipstick is $8.00 and I have the shade 01 I Am Fabulous; a mauve with a purple undertone. It claims to be a no smudge, pigmented formula that will last up to eight hours. It is infused with Monoi oil to provide hydration to the lips and is packaged in a typical, bullet lipstick tube.
I love this lipstick but for the color, not the formula. The formula isn’t bad, it just definitely doesn’t live up to the smudge proof, eight hour wear claim. This lipstick is a very comfortable matte but it will transfer and wear away. I did find that it wore away gracefully, however, and didn’t clump up or look gross on the lips. If you see a shade in this line that you like, I recommend it.
Final Thoughts:
Both of these are winners and that always makes me happy! I’d love to know if you’ve tried them or what lip products you’re loving right now. Thanks for reading and have a great day!
