Don’t ask me how but I managed to get what I wanted from the Colourpop Twilight Collection. You know, the one that sold out in literally five minutes🥴 This release was handled so poorly and reminded me why I rarely buy from Colourpop. The last release I bought was the Snow White Collection and unfortunately, I ended up not being in love with that one. I really wanted something from this release, though, because I was a teenager during the height of the Twilight craze and I loved it. They got me with the nostalgia BUT are the products actually good? Yes… and no. Let’s talk about the lip oil first!
The Lux Lip Oil is $11.00 and you get 0.16 ounces of product. I have the shade Team Jacob, a sheer black with silver pinpoints. This lip oil has a doe foot applicator and is unscented with no taste. I really don’t have much to say about this other than I like it. It has a thin but hydrating formula that isn’t long lasting on the lips but I wouldn’t expect it to be. It gives my lips a beautiful mauve tint and it also looks great on top of lipsticks. Out of the three products I bought, this one is my favorite.
The Super Shock Highlighter is $10.00 and you get 0.15 ounces of product. I have the shade Meadow, an opalescent duo chrome lavender with multi dimensional pinpoints. In my opinion, this is just a sheer base with pink and blue reflects. I was disappointed that it wasn’t more of a lavender shade and just looked like pink glitter on my skin. It is the typical Super Shock formula, so a cream. I applied it on top of my powder and it moved the makeup underneath around so this is one that would be best applied before powder. Overall, if you’re wanting a pink glitter highlighter, this is a good one but it’s not the smooth lavender that I was hoping for.

The Twilight Eyeshadow Palette is $24.00 and contains fifteen shades: two glitters, six mattes, one matte with glitter and six metallics. It has cardboard packaging with a firm magnetic closure. Instead of a mirror, there’s a picture of Edward and Bella. I personally find pictures of actual people on palettes to be tacky but that’s simply my opinion. Let’s talk pros and cons.
Pros:
- I love this color story and think it suits the first movie very well.
- I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the glitter shades, Edward and Immortal. The glitter is pressed into a very tacky base so there was no fallout and I wasn’t worried about it getting into my eyes.
- The metallics, while not high shine, were easy to work with and great for simple looks.
- I really enjoyed the green and blue mattes. The blues are unique to my personal collection.
Cons:
- The metallics were SO lackluster! They almost looked like satin shades on the eyes. I was very excited for the Moonlit and Irresistible shadows but both were dull.
- The mattes Say It Out Loud and Bella both blended out to be very gray and ashy. They look like cool toned browns in the pan but for some reason, on the eyes, they transform into shades of taupe that I don’t personally enjoy.
- I found the deeper mattes, Bella and Impossibly Fast, to be difficult to blend.
- Forever Young is a matte with glitter and it kicks up a TON of product. I’ve used it three times and already have a dent in the pan because of the amount of shadow that kicks up if you barely touch it.
- Most of these shadows create fallout and I wouldn’t say that any of them are creamy.

Swatches & Shade Descriptions:
These eyeshadows do have names but for some reason, Colourpop hasn’t added the shade descriptions on the website. I will describe them to the best of my ability. I’ll be going from left to right, top row to bottom row. These photos were taken with flash to show off the sparkle.

- Impossibly Fast– matte forest green
- Bella– matte deep taupe
- Irresistible– metallic gunmetal
- Irrevocably– matte denim blue

I created three looks using this palette and none of them wow me🤷♀️ I don’t always wear an eye primer but I do set my base with a cream colored shadow.

- I applied Forever Young on my upper and lower lash lines.
- I blended Seventeen into my crease.

- I lightly blended Forever Young into the deepest part of my crease and applied it on my water line.
- I applied Lion & Lamb on my lid and smudged it on my lower lash line.
- I applied Ice Cold in my inner corner.
- I blended Unconditionally into my crease.
- I deepened my crease with Irrevocably.
- I applied Irresistible on my lid.
- I applied Immortal on top of Irresistible.

Final Thoughts:
Maybe it’s because I’ve been trying out so many indie brands lately but Colourpop just isn’t doing it for me anymore. As always, their packaging and theming is wonderful but the formulas are so lackluster and boring. I would rather save my money and buy from brands like Fantasy Cosmetica. If you couldn’t get what you wanted from this collection, don’t stress about it. There is truly nothing special about this release except for the theme. I would love to know your thoughts, though. As always, thanks for reading and have a great day!
I was just about to buy this palette but came across your blog, I really only wanted it for the Lion and Lamb shade, it looked SO amazing and pigmented in the companies stock photos, you saved me a lot of money and heartbreak as I’m in Australia, thank you
