Beautiful AND Affordable Neutral Palette- Makeup Revolution Nude Silk Eyeshadow Palette Review

7

I think my most controversial makeup opinion is that Makeup Revolution makes some of the best eyeshadows. I almost always love every palette I buy from them and the Forever Flawless Nude Silk is no exception.

This beauty is $15.00 and contains eighteen shades: seven mattes and eleven shimmers/metallics. The packaging is made of tin, has a mirror and a firm clasp closure. I personally love the tin packaging, but some may not. With the basic info out of the way, let’s talk pros and only pros because I have no cons!

❤Pros:

  • I love this color story so much. It’s neutral but with some pops of lavender and gold. It’s so easy to create a simple one shadow look or a deep smoky look with it.
  • I like that this is mainly a metallic/shimmer palette. In my day to day life, I typically blend one shimmer all over the lid, put another in my inner corner and that’s it. This palette is perfect to use for those simple looks because most of the shades are light and easy to apply with just a finger.
  • The metallics and shimmers in this palette aren’t the most blinding but they are perfect for the “regular” makeup user. I love a super shimmery shadow but there are times when I want a smooth metallic or something a bit less dramatic. They create very little fallout and are just easy to use.
  • All of the mattes, even the deepest ones, were easy to blend and work with.
  • The shade Original is a beautiful highlighter and the shade Chic is a perfect blush. I used them this way in the second look I did and because of this versatility, I could see myself traveling with this palette.

Swatches & Shade Descriptions:

These eyeshadows do have names but no shade descriptions so I will describe them to the best of my ability. I’ll be going from left to right, top row to bottom row. These photos were taken with flash to show off the sparkle.

Eyeshadow Looks:

I created three looks using this palette and really like them all. I don’t always wear an eye primer but I do set my base with a cream colored shadow.

  1. I set my base with Sandy.
  2. I blended Chic into my crease.
  3. I applied Digital on my lid.
  4. I applied Malibu on my inner lid.
  5. I applied Original in my inner corner.
  6. I smudged Confession and Smokey on my lower lash line.
  1. I set my base with Bare.
  2. I blended Boss into my crease.
  3. I deepened my crease with Smokey and applied it on my water line.
  4. I applied Divine on my outer lid.
  5. I applied Stormy on the rest of my lid.
  6. I applied Living in my inner corner.
  7. I smudged Golden on my lower lash line.
  1. I set my base with Sandy.
  2. I blended Caramel into my crease.
  3. I lightly deepened my crease with Confession and applied it on my water line.
  4. I applied For Real on my lid.
  5. I applied Sunset on my inner lid.
  6. I applied Iconic in my inner corner.
  7. I applied Original on my brow bone.
  8. I smudged Weekend on my lower lash line.

Final Thoughts:

If it’s not obvious, I highly recommend this palette. I’d love to know what you think about it and the looks I created! Thanks for reading and have a great day!

  1. I do love these palettes by Revolution . I want to add another one but I’ve been slowing down on palettes ( I have so many). I do love how nice the formula is and the tin palettes case is really nice . Marble pastle pink for a nude set is such touch .

    1. I have majorly slowed down on palettes this year. I’m trying to only buy ones I think I’ll really love. I’m usually a sucker for these tin ones from Revolution, though, because they’re so affordable and I always love them.
