It has been years since I bought anything from Catrice Cosmetics. They used to be one of my favorite brands but when they pulled out of Ulta, I kind of forgot about them. I recently decided to place an order and I’m so happy that I did because almost everything I purchased was excellent! Let’s talk about the primer and setting spray first.
The Extreme Blur Mattifying Primer is $10.00. It’s packaged in a luxe feeling glass jar and contains 0.88 ounces of product. It claims to have a hydrating gel texture that blurs, mattifies and evens out the skin. I’m going to be totally honest, this is like every other silicone based primer that has been released. It is very thick and I felt that it took a lot of product to cover my entire face. I also didn’t notice much of a difference when I used this and when I didn’t. This isn’t an awful primer but it’s not one I find to be necessary.
The Blend + Bond Setting Spray is $8.00 and you get 1.85 ounces of product. It claims to blend powders and liquids to give a natural finish, without a heavy film. I like this setting spray but like with the primer, I can’t tell that it did anything special that other setting sprays don’t already do. It’s not bad, just basic. If you need a setting spray, I recommend it but I wouldn’t go out of my way to buy it.
The HD Liquid Coverage Foundation is $10.00. It contains 1.01 ounces of product and is packaged in a glass bottle with a dropper. I bought the shade Sand Beige, a warm light tone. This foundation claims to be mattifying, waterproof, sweatproof, transfer proof and last for 24 hours… This is a good foundation but it’s not that good😂 It does have a soft matte finish, which I enjoy on my normal/combo skin. It looks beautiful on pores, acne and skin texture. I also had almost no creasing in my fine lines, a rarity. However, after about 8 hours, I would notice wear around my mouth/chin and oil breaking through in my T-Zone. This shade is a bit too dark for me but I still really like this foundation. In the pictures below you can see my bare face, my face with one layer of foundation and then my face with foundation and concealer.
I also bought the True Skin Concealer for $7.00. It contains 0.15 ounces of product and has a doe foot applicator. The applicator on mine broke off the first time I tried to use this and I had to use an applicator from a different concealer. I’m not sure if this is a common issue or not. This concealer claims to be waterproof, have a natural finish and last 18 hours. I bought the shade Warm Macadamia, a warm light tone, and it is a slightly better shade match for my skin than the foundation, but I believe I could go lighter. Like the foundation, I really enjoyed this concealer. It has very good coverage, blends easily and does not crease. I will definitely be buying the foundation and concealer again, just in shades that match my skin tone better.
The Holiday Skin Bronze & Glow Palette is $7.00 and has plastic packaging with a snap closure. It contains a light bronzer and champagne highlighter. I think this little duo may be my favorite product that I bought. The powders are so silky and easy to blend. In the picture, I used the bronzer as a blush and have the highlighter on my nose and cheeks. I’m also wearing it like this in all the pictures below and I used the highlighter in my inner corner for the eyeshadow looks. I have no complaints with this but I do wish that the brand would release more shades because this would only work on light skin tones.
The Dark Cocoa Eyeshadow Palette is $6.00 and has plastic packaging with a snap closure. It contains eight shades, three shimmers and five mattes. This is a beautiful little neutral palette. It does lean a bit more warm toned than I wanted and the shimmers are all very lackluster. They swatch well but on the eyes, the shimmer disappears and it gives a more satin look. However, the mattes are amazing. They are so easy to blend and work with. This palette is worth it for the mattes alone and I would be interested in trying some of the other ones from the brand.
I bought two lip products and unfortunately, at the time of writing this, the matte bullet lipstick has been discontinued. I really hate that because this is such an excellent formula. If you can find it, the shade I bought was Scandalous. The Eternal Red Cherry Bomb Lip Oil is still available but on sale for $4.00 so I’m assuming it’s being discontinued. That is unfortunate because this formula is also excellent. I bought the shade Dark Romance and I highly recommend it.
