When e.l.f. releases something new, I’m almost always curious about it. They’re my favorite brand and I usually love what I try from them. Unfortunately, that is not the case for today’s products… well, all but one of them. Let’s talk about what I hated the most first, the Camo CC Cream.

Camo CC Cream

The Camo CC Cream is $14.00 for 1.05 ounces of product. It claims to have medium to full coverage and a natural finish. It contains: SPF 30, collagen, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide and peptides. It’s available in 20 shades and I have the lightest one, Fair 120 N. As far as the claims and ingredients, this should have been my perfect  foundation but oh boy, it was not. Let’s discuss pros and cons.

– My skin type is combination with large pores and acne scars.

Pros:

• The packaging is a tube with a pump, my personal favorite.
• This CC Cream has some really great ingredients. I love products with hyaluronic acid and niacinamide.
• I did not notice any fragrance and it did not break me out or irritate my skin.
• The shade I chose is for fair skin with neutral undertones and I feel that it matches me pretty well; though, I will talk more about this in the cons section.

Cons:

• The shade range and the pictures of the shade range on the e.l.f. website, are garbage. The shade I chose looks pretty dark on their website but it’s VERY fair. I can make it work but something a shade darker would have matched me better. There’s also nowhere near enough shades on either end of the spectrum.
• The consistency of this CC Cream is like glue. If I didn’t use a very oily primer underneath, I was going to be blending it in for no less than 15 minutes. I just don’t have that kind of time, especially for a CC Cream that offers almost no coverage.
• This SINKS into pores and creases, especially if there’s no primer underneath it.
• I’m honestly confused by all the reviews that say that this CC Cream has amazing coverage because I think the coverage is awful. You’ll see in my pictures below but on me, this is definitely a low coverage product and I couldn’t get it to build up.
• This feels very heavy and cakey on the skin.
• The wear time throughout the day wasn’t the worst but it wasn’t the best. It significantly broke down around my nose, mouth and chin. This happened with or without primer.

The first two pictures are of my skin with nothing on it and the second two are with one layer of the CC Cream. You can very clearly still see all of my redness and darkness. If you zoom in, you can also see how it’s just sitting in my pores.

These three pictures are of my finished makeup on different days. I’m wearing the e.l.f. Flawless Brightening Concealer in the middle picture but the other two are with no concealers or color correctors, just powder. I didn’t like the way my base makeup looked on any of these days.

This is how my makeup consistently looked at the end of the day, with or without primer. It would be very caked up around my nose, sunken into fine lines and worn off in patches around my chin and mouth. Overall, a very bad experience every time. I am going to keep working with this CC Cream for a little longer but I do see myself decluttering it in the near future. I really don’t recommend it for anyone.

Flawless Brightening Concealer

The Flawless Brightening Concealer is $5.00 for 0.07 ounces of product. It claims to be lightweight and brightening while containing hyaluronic acid and vitamin C. It’s available in twelve shades and I have the shade Light 26 N. This shade claims to be light with neutral peach undertones but I think the undertones lean more warm yellow.

My thoughts on this are pretty simple, it’s a meh product and not worth getting. It has a click up applicator with a brush tip, my LEAST favorite type of concealer applicator. It offers a minuscule amount of brightening and no coverage. I would rather save time and just wear nothing. Keep your $5.00 and skip this.

Halo Glow Setting Powder

The Halo Glow Setting Powder is $8.00 for 0.24 ounces of product. It claims to have a weightless texture that helps to blur fine lines and give a soft focus finish while controlling oil. It’s available in six shades and I have the shade Light. Also, the packaging does contain a sifter but I removed mine.

We’re ending on a positive note today because I LOVE this powder! It is seriously my new favorite. It does everything it claims to do and just leaves my skin looking so beautiful. It’s even helped bad foundations look better. It doesn’t contain any glitter but it leaves a healthy looking glow on the skin. I can not recommend it enough!

Final Thoughts:

I hate that two out of three of these products sucked for me but that’s just how it goes sometimes. I have MANY more e.l.f. reviews coming over the next few weeks so keep an eye out for them!
