I love seeing other people’s book hauls but for some reason, I’ve never shared any of mine. I thought it would be fun for my first one to be my Christmas book haul. All of these books were either gifts or bought with gift money. I plan to read and review these books over the next few months so this is also a sneak peek at upcoming reviews!
I’m currently reading the Folk of the Air trilogy by Holly Black and I’ve already reviewed the first book, The Cruel Prince. I wanted this YA fantasy trilogy because it’s EXTREMELY hyped up and beloved by many. I’m liking it so far but I wouldn’t say that I love it and I don’t see it being a new favorite, unfortunately.
Last year, I read Katherine by Anya Seton and loved it so much that I really wanted to read more by her. I chose The Winthrop Woman and Dragonwyk completely at random. The Winthrop Woman is a historical fiction book about a Puritan woman living in the Massachusetts Bay Colony and Dragonwyck is a gothic romance about an 18 year old girl who falls in love with the mysterious owner of a mansion; that’s literally all I know about these books😂 I hope they’re both as good as Katherine was!
I discovered Kaki Warner in 2020 when I read her Blood Rose trilogy. She quickly became one of my favorite authors and I now own almost all of her books, minus a few standalones. Rough Creek is her newest release and the start of a new series. It’s a contemporary western romance but I don’t know much else about it.
Heartbreak Creek, Colorado Dawn and Bride of the High Country make up the Runaway Brides trilogy. This is a historical fiction, Western romance series about women finding their way west and becoming brides under unusual circumstances.
Behind Blue Eyes, Where the Horses Run and Home by Morning make up up the Heroes of Heartbreak Creek trilogy. This series is a spin off of the Runaway Brides trilogy and historical Western romance, as well.
I can’t wait to read all of these books because Warner just writes my favorite kind of stories.
Final Thoughts:
That is all of the books that I was either given or bought myself for Christmas! If you enjoy seeing hauls, let me know because I’d be happy to do more throughout the year. These types of posts allow me to talk about books without necessarily reviewing them and I like that. Also, let me know if you received any books for Christmas! Thanks for reading and have a great day!
