I WANT the Nomad Hudson Valley Eyeshadow Palette; Here’s What I’m Using Instead🍂🍁

Nomad Cosmetics is a brand that I’ve wanted to try for months but none of their releases have been quite what I’m looking for. I considered the Haunted Europe Palette because it’s so pretty and I love the theme but I don’t like the gold and pink shades. I also considered the recently released Hudson Valley Palette, pictured above, because it’s GORGEOUS. However, it’s mainly mattes and the shimmers that are included are very bright; both are cons for me. Since Nomad palettes are around the $39.00 price point, I want to love every shade if I buy one. I could see myself buying the Hudson Valley Palette on Black Friday or during some other sale but until then, I’m going to use what I have.

I own the Ace Beaute Falling for You and Floral Vintage palettes. Both are absolutely perfect for fall and I will be reviewing them soon but today I want to focus on my depotted Colourpop singles. Pictured above are the Just My Luck, It’s My Pleasure, Good as Gold, All That and Making Mauves palettes. I took twelve shades and curated them into a grungy, toned-down fall palette.

I am so happy with how this color story turned out! It’s amazing how depotting your palettes can help you to see new color stories and just really revive old, forgotten about palettes. Here’s the shades from top to bottom and left to right in the palette:

  • State of Mine- Good as Gold
  • Au Team- Good as Gold
  • Infatuation- All That
  • 24K- Good as Gold
  • Nugget About It- Good as Gold
  • Silouette- All That
  • Golden Touch- Good as Gold
  • Big Brooch- Good as Gold
  • Charmed- Just My Luck
  • Gold Star- Good as Gold
  • Olive U- Just My Luck
  • Please Me- All That

So far, I’ve did one look with this palette but I would like to do at least two more. I probably won’t post those on the blog so follow my Instagram if you’re interested in seeing them. For the look above, I wanted to do something grungy and cool toned. I love the “typical” fall colors but I also enjoy these kind of shades. Here’s what I used:

  1. I applied Nugget About It on my lid and blended it into my crease. I also applied this shade on my water line.
  2. I blended Charmed above and into Nugget About It and I smudged it on my lower lash line.
  3. I tapped Au Team on top of Nugget About It.
  4. I applied 24K into my inner coner.

Brushes Used:

If you are curious about any of the other products on my face, you can find these looks in my recent posts on Instagram.

Final Thoughts:

Of course, this little palette isn’t meant to dupe the Nomad Hudson Valley. I’m simply trying to not spend money and to get more use out of my collection. I also plan to create a palette using my Looxi and ShopMissA single shadows so let me know if you’re interested in seeing a post about that! Let me know what you think about the palette I created, as well! Thanks for reading and have a great day!

  1. This was a great blog read. I share the idea of saving money and using affordable beauty products sometimes. As of today, there are multiple product options out there to choose from and many of them can be found on the internet.
    Thank you for sharing!
