Reviews for New Spring Goodies from J. Cat Beauty & Essence!

J. Cat Beauty and essence are two brands that have stayed affordable while putting out fantastic releases. Since I picked up just a few things from each brand, I decided to combine these reviews. There is one dud but I’ve found a few new favorites. Let’s talk about the essence palettes first!

The essence Bloom Baby, Bloom Eye & Face Palette in Make it Bloom is $8.99. It contains four eyeshadows, one highlighter, one blush and one bronzer. It’s packaged in a slim, travel friendly cardboard palette with a mirror and magnetic closure.

  • Shadow One– matte cream
  • Shadow Two– metallic light bronze
  • Shadow Three– metallic midtone bronze gold
  • Shadow Four– matte brown
  • Highlighter– smooth metallic icy champagne
  • Blush– satin peachy pink
  • Bronzer– matte light brown with a slight orange undertone

I really love this palette, especially for simple makeup days and travel. In the pictures above, I set my base with Shadow One, applied Shadow Three all over my lid, applied Shadow Two in my inner corner and smudged Shadow Four on my lower lash line. I’m also wearing all three of the cheek products on my face. They were very easy to blend and work with. My only complaint is with the lack of pigmentation, especially of the blush. A lightly pigmented product can be easier to use but I felt like I had to build and build and build the blush to get it to show up. The eyeshadows and bronzer also weren’t very pigmented. I think this palette would work well for those with very fair skin tones but unfortunately, it wouldn’t work well for those darker than I am.

The essence Bloom Baby, Bloom Eye & Face Palette in Bloom Your Own Way is $8.99. It contains four eyeshadows, one highlighter, one blush and one bronzer. It’s packaged in a slim, travel friendly cardboard palette with a mirror and magnetic closure.

  • Shadow One– matte pink toned cream
  • Shadow Two– metallic rose red
  • Shadow Three– metallic icy pink
  • Shadow Four– matte dark brown
  • Highlighter– smooth metallic icy pink
  • Blush– matte mauve
  • Bronzer– matte midtone brown with a slight orange undertone

While I like both palettes, this one is my favorite. The formula is the same, blendable and easy to work with, but everything in this palette is more pigmented. In the pictures above, I set my base with Shadow One, applied Shadow Two all over my lid, applied Shadow Three in my inner corner and smudged Shadow Four on my lower lash line. I’m also wearing all three of the cheek products on my face. If you were going to pick up one of these palettes, I would recommend this one.

The essence Lash Without Limits Extreme Lengthening & Volume Mascara is $4.99 and contains 0.43 fluid ounces of product. It’s available in black or brown and I have the black option. It has a long rubber bristle brush, my personal favorite.

This is hands down my favorite mascara right now. It coats the lashes beautifully while making them look long and separated. It doesn’t add a ton of volume but that doesn’t bother me. I’ve also had no issues with it smudging. I can’t recommend this enough!

The J. Cat Beauty Dew Glow Lip Hydrators are $5.99 apiece. I have the shades Glaze for Days, light brown, and Full Gleam, mauve pink. They claim to be tinted lip balms, and they are, but they’re much more pigmented than I expected them to be. In the pictures below, I’m wearing Glaze for Days on the left and Full Gleam on the right.

I absolutely love this formula and have been reaching for them constantly. They’re so comfortable and while not super long lasting, they stick around for a decent amount of time. The formula is similar to the Flower Beauty Moisturizing Lipsticks that I have loved for years, but these are half the price. Out of everything that I’m sharing today, I recommend these lippies the most.

The J. Cat Beauty Amazeme Tinited Lip Crayon is $4.99 and I have the shade Just The Way You Are. According to the website, this is a mauve but this is actually more of a reddish pink shade. I always love lip crayons simply because I find them easy to use but unfortunately, this one isn’t great.

I like almost everything about this lipstick. I love the color and that it’s a lip crayon. I also really like the formula. It has a satin matte finish that’s comfortable and decently long wearing. However, this lip crayon REEKS of chemicals. It smells like melted plastic and I truly don’t know if I’m comfortable using it😬 For that reason, I don’t recommend it.

Final Thoughts:

J. Cat Beauty and essence rarely let me down so I’m not surprised that I love most of these products. I do have more to share from both brands so you’ll see that soon. I would love to know if you’re interested in any of these! Thanks for reading and have a great day!
