I haven’t made time to watch House of the Dragon yet but I LOVED Game of Thrones. I bought all of the GOT palettes that Makeup Revolution released so when I saw the House of Dragon Gift Set, I needed it for my dragon collection.

This set is $24.00 but it has been consistently on sale. It’s packaged in a large, tin egg that’s honestly pretty bulky. I plan to fill it with dragon toys and reuse it as a gift for my son🐉 Anyways, other than the egg, you get a nine pan eyeshadow palette, a cream highlighter and a lip oil. Let’s talk about the lip oil first.

This is a clear lip oil and while it doesn’t claim to have a plumping affect, it does tingle on the lips. I personally enjoy that but others may not. To be just a lip oil, it actually has good staying power and it’s very hydrating. I’ve been using this nonstop and I like it more than I expected to. It’s packaged in a thick tube with a large doe foot. I don’t love this packaging because it’s more difficult to store but other than that, I’m very happy with it.

I’m not typically a cream highlighter fan but as far as they go, this is a good one. It’s a beautiful champagne shade with fine shimmer throughout. It’s very easy to apply and blend. I did make the mistake of applying it over powder and it moved the makeup underneath, but that’s typical for a cream highlighter. Like the lip oil, I’m pleased with this but I do wish it was a powder.
The palette is packaged in cardboard with a firm magnetic closure. It has nine shades, five mattes and four metallics. In order from left to right and top to bottom, the shades are: matte brown, metallic bronze, matte tan, metallic blackened green packed with green, gold and silver shimmer, metallic red with an orange undertone, metallic gold, matte black, matte taupe and matte orange.
I really enjoyed this palette, even more than I expected to. All of the shades were effortless to work with. The mattes blended easily and the metallics were beautiful. The green metallic is the most special of the entire palette. I truly think it’s one of the prettiest shades I own. Pictures just don’t do it justice. I’ll show you the two looks I created now!
- I blended the matte tan into my crease.
- I applied the metallic bronze on my lid.
- I applied the metallic gold, with some of the cream highlighter, in my inner corner.
- I applied the matte brown on my lower lash line.
- I blended the matte taupe into my crease.
- I deepened my crease with the matte black and smudged it on my water line.
- I applied the metallic green on my lid.
- I applied the metallic gold in my inner corner.
- I applied the matte orange on my lower lash line.
- I smudged the metallic red on my lower lash line, under the matte orange.
*If you notice any uneven blending in this look, it was because of the foundation underneath it.
Final Thoughts:
I loved this gift set even more than I expected to. If you or anybody you know is a Game of Thrones or House of the Dragon fan, this would be the perfect gift. I’d love to know what you think! Thanks for reading!
