Milani’s Newest and Lightest Foundation Review

DSC00669

Milani is a makeup brand that is more geared toward darker skinned people, which is totally fine (shouldn’t have to say that but people love to get their feelings hurt). I knew that their Conceal & Perfect Foundation would not be a color match for me but I really wanted to try it because I had heard that the coverage was amazing and it was very long wearing. When they released a new shade called 00 Light Natural, the lightest that they currently offer, I was very excited and thought that I would give it a try. The foundation is $10.00 on the Milani website, which is the only place I could find this shade.

Sadly, this was still about two shades too dark for me and very orange. I had to use a very light concealer over my entire face to make the color match me at all. I just bought NYX’s white foundation mixer and I’m hoping it will make this foundation wearable. As far as how the foundation wore throughout the day, it was pretty decent. The coverage wasn’t as good as I thought it would be since this claims to be a concealer and foundation in one. I still had to use all of my regular concealers to make this full coverage enough for me but I do have acne and acne scars. It did apply nicely and I didn’t notice it settling into fine lines or caking up on my skin texture. Throughout the day it did start to feel cakey on my skin. I hope that makes sense. The best way I can explain it is when you’ve had a full face of makeup on all day and at the end of the day you can feel it just sitting on your skin. I was just really ready to wash this off at the end of the day. It has a semi-strong paint like smell. The smell didn’t bother me but if you’re sensitive it may bother you.

Overall, I didn’t hate this foundation but I’m not in love with it. I’m hoping that my new foundation mixer works well with the formula so that I can use this because I don’t like wasting $10.00. When I review the mixer I’ll let you know how it worked with this foundation. Have you tried this foundation? Let me know what you think about it! Thank you for reading and have a great day!
