e.l.f. Cosmetics Mad for Matte Eyeshadow Palette in Summer Breeze Review

DSC00747

The e.l.f. Cosmetics Mad for Matte Eyeshadow Palette is not new, in fact it’s one of their oldest. However, before I made myself stop buying makeup to use what I have I bought this palette. All of the Mad for Matte palettes are $10.00 and I bought Summer Breeze. It may be named Summer Breeze, but to me, these colors scream fall.

I love the mixture of the neutral browns with the cool toned colors. These eyeshadows are slightly hit or miss. Some are really creamy and pigmented while others are not. The darker shades do have quite a bit of fall out and they can take some building up to get a really deep color. For example, I expected the purple and black to be super pigmented but they really weren’t. The purple made my eye look like it was just bruised. The lightest shade, left picture on the far left, didn’t show up on my eyelid at all so I had to use a similar color from another palette.  I loved the darker browns, deep pink and orange. Those were creamy, pigmented and wore well throughout the day.

This palette was just good, not great. I wouldn’t pay $10.00 for it again but I do think it would be worth it when it’s on sale. It does have some beautiful shades for fall and it does pretty well if you use a primer. If you own this palette, or any of the other Mad for Matte palettes, I would love to know what you think about them! Thank you for reading and have a great day!
