What I got from the Wet n Wild Midnight Mermaid Fall Collection/Review

I’m going to be totally honest with you when I say I really don’t care for Wet n Wild anymore. I know, I know, I’m in the minority but I just prefer e.l.f. or NYX any day. There is a few things from Wet n Wild that I love but mainly just their permanent collection eyeshadows. When I saw the Midnight Mermaid Fall Collection I LOVED it. There was some of it I knew I wouldn’t want but a lot of it looked beautiful. In the end, I decided to buy the new highlighter and three of the Liquid Catsuit lipsticks.

The Mermaid Highlighting Bar was $6.99. I don’t have a picture of this on my face because I put it on and immediately took it back off. I HATED this highlight. It’s the first one I’ve ever tried from Wet n Wild and I know their highlighters are really popular so I was expecting to love this. It’s a very wet looking, yellow highlight which is fine, just not my preference. There is nothing subtle about this even if you apply with a light hand. What I really didn’t like was the super chunky, pink glitter. It was so noticeable on my face and I just do not like that. It also wasn’t as creamy as I expected it to be. If you like blinding, glittery highlights you might like this but it just wasn’t for me.

The three Megalast Metallic Liquid Catsuit Lipsticks I bought were Siren’s Jewel, Coral Crown and Harbor a Crush. They were $4.99 a piece and I’ve listed them in the order they appear above. Siren’s Jewel is a deep green, metallic matte with some blue glitter. Coral Crown is a burnt orange, metallic matte. Harbor Crush is a deep reddish, purple, metallic matte. I really love all three of these. They are possibly the most comfortable matte lipsticks I’ve ever tried. They do have that slight powdery feel that most liquid mattes have. They hold up pretty well through drinking and eating but will need touched up around the center of your lips. They are kiss proof and smudge proof unless you rub them with some force. The applicator is very unique. It’s like a doe foot that’s missing a chunk but that makes it much easier to get around the edges of your lips. I was highly impressed with these lipsticks.

I recommend the lipsticks, don’t recommend the highlighter and as for the rest of the collection I couldn’t say. If you’ve tried these or anything else in this collection let me know what you think about it! Thanks for reading and have a great day!
