I’ve been wanting to try some more creative makeup looks and get more use out of my makeup collection so I decided to do six looks inspired by the game Spyro the Dragon, more specifically, the six homeworlds in the game. This game was released in 1998 on PlayStation and was followed by two sequels and many spin offs. So, why did I decide to do makeup looks inspired by a twenty year old game? The original three games are being re released (completely updated and modernized) on November 13th, tomorrow if you’re reading this the day I upload it. I am VERY excited about this because Spyro was a massive part of my childhood. I still have all of my original games and my PlayStation. If you’d like, you can learn more about the Reignited Trilogy right here.
I wouldn’t say any of these looks are perfect. For some of them I just didn’t quite have the right colors but I still had a lot of fun doing this. I’ll let you know what palettes I used for each look and link to the palette if I’ve reviewed it.
The Artisan homeworld was always my second to least favorite because it was just so boring, lol. It did have some beautiful colors, though. I used the Douce, Masquerade and Magic palettes all from Juvia’s Place.
Peace Keepers also wasn’t really a favorite of mine but I did like a few of the levels a lot. I used the BH Cosmetics Royal Affair palette, which I’ll be reviewing soon, and the purple is from the Juvia’s Place Masquerade palette.
Magic Crafters was definitely one of my favorites. It’s hard for me to rank my top three worlds but this is one of them. This look turned out much closer to the picture than it looks here. I used a duochrome purple that just isn’t showing up in the pictures. I used the BH Cosmetics Royal Affair palette and I used the Juvia’s Place Masquerade palette for the beautiful turquoise on my lid.
I was so scared of Beast Makers as a child but it’s definitely in my top three favorite worlds. I used the Juvia’s Place Festival and Magic palettes. I also used the Jungle Roar palette from Coastal Scents.
Dream Weavers is the other world in my top three and in my opinion, the prettiest. I used the Juvia’s Place Masquerade and Magic palettes. I used the BH Cosmetics Royal Affair platte and the Coastal Scents Joli Colibri palette.
This was always my least favorite world but I actually really like the way this look turned out. I used the Juvia’s Place Masquerade and Magic palettes. I also used the Coastal Scents Jungle Roar, Charlie Girl and Joli Colibiri palettes.
As I said above, I had so much fun doing this and want to do more creative things like this in the future. I would love to know if you played Spyro growing up and plan to buy the Reignited Trilogy! Thanks for reading and have a great day!
