If you read last week’s review for Queen’s Honor Episode Two Quest, you’ll know that I am not pleased with this little novella series by Mande Matthews. If you haven’t, I do recommend reading that review but I will reiterate some of my issues again here. Today I’m going to review what is technically the last installment of this series, “Surrender”, BUT this series is unfinished by the author so the story is not resolved. This review will have spoilers.

Synopsis

Wondering what happened that night with Elibel and Arthur? This short story reveals the events of that fateful rendezvous.

My Thoughts

Not to be harsh, but this was a waste of $1.00. At the end of Quest, Arthur and Elibel, Guinevere’s cousin, have an affair. I didn’t mention it in my review because it literally doesn’t matter. Guinevere finds out and doesn’t care because she’s in love with Lancelot. This short story is just about that. It’s honestly a waste of time and should have been either offered for free or included in a third novella for the series.

Final Thoughts

This series has a ton of potential and I do hope that Matthews continues it. This short story was released in 2015, however, so I think it’s doubtful that she will finish the series. In my opinion, she should not be charging for these because they’re not long enough and it’s incomplete. She does have other books so maybe those would be worth checking out but I don’t plan to anytime soon. I’d love to know your thoughts! Thanks for reading and have a great day!
