I read an article on Twitter (can’t find it or I’d link it) that said skincare will be the priority during this time of self isolation. It makes sense. Many people won’t be leaving the house so there won’t be a “need” to wear makeup. I will still be doing my makeup because it’s fun for me but that’s not the case for everyone. If you’re focusing more on skincare right now, you’ll be interested in today’s reviews.
Tree Hut typically has new releases every season and when I saw the spring releases on Ulta’s website, I had to grab some things. I’ve talked about their scrubs and body butters before but I’ve never did a dedicated post to their products. I love everything I purchased but of course, I’ll explain why down below. Let’s discuss some delicious smelling body care!
The Banana Muffin Shea Sugar Scrub is $9.00 for 18 ounces of product. Keep in mind, all Tree Hut products are cheaper at WalMart but you may not be able to find all products in store. This scrub has the same great formula as all of the other ones I’ve tried. The sugar granules are the perfect size to gently scrub away dead skin on the feet and body. I have Keratosis pilaris (little red bumps) on my arms and I love to use these scrubs to help with that. The scent of this, like all of Tree Hut’s scrubs, is delicious. It smells 100% like banana muffins. If you like that scent, you’d love this scrub.
I was curious about the Sugarlips Lip Butter so I decided to try it. It’s $6.00 for 0.52 ounces. That’s more than I usually pay for lip balm but this stuff is so worth it. This is by far my favorite lip balm ever. It contains shea butter and rosehip oil which are both excellent ingredients. The formula is on the thicker side and slightly sticky but this allows it to stay on the lips for a long time. It has a subtle fruity scent that does go away and has no taste. It’s so hydrating along with being a beautiful gloss. I wish Tree Hut would release some tinted versions of this because I would buy them all. I highly recommend this.
Now for my favorites, the body butters. I have a nice little collection because I like to have options. I currently own: Moroccan Rose, Marula & Jasmine, Tahitian Vanilla Bean and Coco Colada. Tahitian Vanilla Bean and Coco Colada are the two newest releases. All are $7.69 for 7 ounces. These body butters have a deeply moisturizing formula while not being sticky. They all have quite a strong scent and the scent does last for a very long time so that’s something to be aware of if you’re sensitive to smells. I often wear one of these body butters instead of perfume. I’ll describe each of the scents to the best of my ability but they may smell differently to different people. I recommend all of them, depending on what kind of smells you like.
- Moroccan Rose– rose with a sugary/sweet undertone. This is a milder scent that is perfect to wear anytime. It contains Moroccan Argan oil.
- Marula & Jasmine– equal parts marula and jasmine. This one has the mildest scent of the four and is such a relaxing one to use before bed; it smells exactly like some baby washes. It contains marula oil and jasmine extract.
- Tahitian Vanilla Bean– a musky scent with vanilla undertones. I wasn’t sure I liked this one when I first tried it but it’s grown on me. This is a more “adult” smell that would be perfect to wear out to an evening dinner date; especially on the beach. It’s the most strongly scented of the four. It contains vanilla extract and monoi oil.
- Coco Colada– pineapple with coconut undertones. This one smells exactly like the tanning bed or a day at the beach. It’s the perfect summer scent and on the milder side. It contains coconut and pineapple extracts.
Final Thoughts:
I know things are hard right now for almost everybody but I hope if you decide to try one of these products that it helps with the long days. Sometimes a relaxing and nice smelling body care product can really improve your mood. I’d love to know if you’ve tried any of these and what you think! Thanks for reading and have a great day!
