Fantastic Affordable Skincare Finds: Heritage Store, Soo’AE & SheaMoisture

I’ve accumulated a few random skincare products over the past month or so. I decided to combine them all into one big review because I just don’t have much to say. These products are affordable and really, really good so there’s no need for any lengthy reviews. Let’s start with my newest addition, the SheaMoisture Raw Shea Baby Lotion.

SheaMoisture Raw Shea Baby Lotion

The SheaMoisture Raw Shea Baby Lotion is $10.00 for 13 ounces of product. It contains shea butter, chamomile, argan oil, frankincense and myrrh. It does not contain parabens, sulfates, mineral oil or phthalates. It’s packaged in a plastic bottle with a pump. I read some reviews that said the lotion was too thick for the pump but I have not had that problem.

I didn’t plan to buy this lotion. I ran out of my Raw Shea Butter Hydrating Body Lotion and wanted to replace it but it was out of stock. I noticed that the Raw Shea Baby Lotion contained frankincense and myrrh, like the Hydrating Body Lotion, and decided to try it instead. I’m so glad that I did because I love this lotion even more than the one I was previously using.

The Hydrating Body Lotion has a very earthy and almost musky scent. While I do enjoy the smell, the scent of frankincense and myrrh within it are quite strong. The Raw Shea Baby Lotion also contains frankincense and myrrh but is more gently scented. The chamomile is the most noticeable scent but all the ingredients combine to create a very relaxing smell. This lotion would be one of my favorites for the scent alone but thankfully, the formula is great as well.

The formula for this lotion is better than any other I’ve tried from SheaMoisture. It is deeply hydrating but not sticky. This lotion would be perfect for men or women and for all ages.

Heritage Store Rosewater Facial Toner & Castor Oil

I was looking for a new toner and saw that the Heritage Store Rosewater Facial Toner had great reviews. It’s $11.79 for 8 ounces of product. It contains hyaluronic acid, rose petal essence and aloe vera; all ingredients great for skin hydration. It does not contain alcohol, parabens, sulfates or phthalates. It has an overall good formula but be aware that it contains rose essential oil and this can be sensitizing to some people.

This is a good toner, however, it’s not my favorite. I absolutely HATE the way this stuff smells. You know the citronella candles that you burn to keep mosquitoes away? That’s exactly what this toner smells like. It’s pretty awful. My skin also didn’t feel as hydrated. I can see and feel much better results when I use the Derma E Radiance Toner or the toner that I’ll be talking about in a moment. Overall, this isn’t a bad option but there are better ones out there.

The Castor Oil, on the other hand, is fantastic. It’s $17.79 for 32 ounces of product but there are smaller sizes available. Castor Oil can be used for so many different things but it’s especially great for skincare and Castor Oil Packs. It’s deeply moisturizing, noncomedogenic and also has anti-inflammatory properties; making it perfect for acne prone skin. It is a very sticky oil, however, so it’s best used in small amounts, at night and underneath another oil or moisturizer. I love it and can’t recommend it enough.

Soo’AE Revitalizing Rose Mist

After finishing the Heritage Store Rosewater Toner, I needed a new one and decided to try the Soo’AE Revitalizing Rose Mist. It’s $7.00 for 6.76 ounces of product. I recommend buying it from WalMart because it’s double the price on Soo’AE’s actual website. It contains hydrating ingredients like rose water, castor oil, strawberry extract and raspberry extract. It does not contain parabens, phthalates or formalehyde. It comes in a bottle with a spray nozzle and can be used as a mist or a toner. I prefer to empty the product into another container and use cotton rounds to apply it.

This toner is just as good, if not better, than the more expensive Derma E Radiance Toner. It is very hydrating and leaves my skin feeling clean and smooth. It also has a very mild scent that dissipates quickly. It’s just the overall perfect toner for me.

Final Thoughts:

I hope these mini reviews helped you find some new skincare to try. Let me know if you’ve tried any of these products or want to! Thanks for reading and have a great day!
