New NYX Lippie Reviews: Shout Loud & Filler Instinct

thumbnail (30)

I have been on an unintentional makeup low buy in 2021. I didn’t plan to do one but there’s not much being released that interests me right now. I’m also, once again, almost out of room for makeup, especially lip products. The only two lippies that I have bought over the past few months are from NYX Cosmetics. NYX tends to always draw me in when they release new lippies. They’re affordable and they usually have really unique shades. I was curious about their Filler Instinct Plumping Lipsticks so I grabbed one. I also picked up one of the Shout Loud Satin Lipsticks; I have reviewed another shade in this formula here. Unfortunately, one of these were slightly disappointing so let’s talk about it first.

Filler Instinct Plumping Lip Color

The Filler Instinct Plumping Lipsticks are $8.00 apiece and claim to provide a glossy, semi-sheer finish with 8 hours of hydration. I have the shade Beach Casual, a nude pink. In my opinion, this is just a very meh lip product. I do really like the color and the finish but it dried my lips out so bad, which is odd because it’s supposed to be a hydrating formula. There are better products out there for less than $8.00 so I say skip this one.

Shout Loud Satin Lipstick

The Shout Loud Satin Lipsticks are $8.50 apiece. They claim to be fully pigmented and provide hydration with a satin finish. I already own the shade Cactus Dreams in this formula but I decided to pick up 1999. 1999 is a taupe and it’s the exact kind of taupe shade I wanted, brown with a gray undertone. This is a very comfortable formula but it does transfer quite badly. Overall, though, it’s a solid lip product and I recommend it.

Final Thoughts:

NYX has their fair share of hits and misses but overall, their lip products are generally worth trying. Let me know what your favorite lippie product from them is! Thanks for reading and have a great day!
