essence Reviews: Pure Nude Highlighter Palette & The Blush in Believing

42

Essence can be a hit or miss brand but everything I’ve tried recently has been really, really good. What makes it even better is the fact that they are one of the most affordable brands available. There are a few different products that I plan to review from them but today I’m going to focus on their The Blush in Believing and the Pure Nude Highlighter Palette

There are a few different shades available of what essence simply calls The Blush and I chose Believing; a dusty mauve rose shade. It is $4.00 and you get 0.17 ounces of product. It’s described as a silky smooth powder blush and that’s exactly what it is. It’s probably the most affordable blush that I own and yet it’s one of my favorites. I love everything about it from the color to the formula. It’s buildable and blendable. Truly, the only con I can think of would be the cheap packaging but that doesn’t bother me. If you see a shade you like, buy it.

The Pure Nude Highlighter Palette is $10.00. You get four shades in a cardboard palette with a magnetic closure. The top left shade is a pale icy pink, top right shade is a pale yellow gold, bottom left shade is a pale peach and bottom right shade is a slightly deeper yellow gold. Back when I first started my blog, I reviewed the original Pure Nude Highlighter. I didn’t really like it because it was a bit too dark for my skin and it just didn’t have enough shine. I like my highlighters to have a bit more oomph than that one did. I went back and forth on buying the Pure Nude Highlighter Palette because I was worried that it would be the same and unfortunately, it kind of is.

While I don’t think the formula of these highlighters is bad, like the original, they just don’t provide a lot of shimmer or shine. If you’re looking for a subtle highlight, this palette would be a great option. These highlighters give a non-glittery glow to the face and I do like that but I wish they were a bit more intense. They do have a place in my collection, though, because I don’t own many subtle highlighters. Whether or not this palette is a good option solely depends on what you look for in highlighters.

✨In the top two pictures on the left, I’m wearing the top left highlighter on my cheeks and the top left and right highlighters on my eyes. In the picture on the bottom left, I’m wearing the top and bottom left highlighters on my cheeks. In the picture on the bottom right, I’m wearing the bottom right highlighter on my cheeks. In the larger picture on the right, I’m wearing the bottom left highlighter on my cheeks.

Final Thoughts:

I still haven’t tried that much from essence so if you have any favorites from them, let me know what they are. Also, let me know if you’ve tried these products and what you thought about them. Thanks for reading and have a great day!
