May has been a month of ups and downs. My sister-in-law passed away at the beginning of the month. That was obviously awful, and still is, but this month was also Mother’s Day. After five years of infertility, Mother’s Day is such a special holiday and one I’m so thankful to celebrate. I am glad to see this month go, though, and I hope June is better. Let’s talk about what I hope to do on the blog!

Books:

I’m starting off the month with Flame of Sevenwaters by Juliet Marillier. This is the last book in the massive Sevenwaters series. I hope it’s a good one because not all of the books in this series have been. Next, I plan to read Daughter of the Moon Goddess by Sue Lynn Tan. I don’t know much about it other than it’s a fantasy inspired by the legend of Chang’e, the Chinese moon goddess. That sounds really interesting and I’m looking forward to it. As always, my TBR is a mile long so I’m not sure what else I’ll end up reading but you can follow my Goodreads to see everything.

Beauty:

I’ve been really inspired to play with my makeup again. I had gotten into a rut where I was interested in SHOPPING for makeup but not necessarily in USING it. I want to get more use out of what I have so I’ve been working on content ideas that don’t revolve around buying new things. Of course, reviews will still go up because I’ve bought a lot over the past few months. In June there will be reviews for some of my Colourpop Super Shock Shadows and the Lorac Soleil Eyeshadow Palette. I’m also almost done trying out the Tarte Tartiest Pro Remix Eyeshadow Palette but that review may not go up until July. We got a new kitten this month! Sylvia Charli, featured above, is so cute and my son’s best furry friend… but she is truly the most annoying cat I’ve ever owned🙃😂 The blog also surpassed 1,000 followers.
