Give Me Glow Cosmetics has discontinued a lot of their older palettes over the past couple of years but one that is still hanging around is the Juicy Olive, a beautiful grungy green color story. There was an older version of this palette that I debated on getting but I’m glad I didn’t because they revamped and extended it from a six pan to a twelve pan. This is an older release, but it still deserves love and attention because it’s SO good!
The Juicy Olive Eyeshadow Palette is $34.00 and I’m surprised the cost is that low. Indie brands have gotten incredibly expensive over the past few years, so I think this price is reasonable. The packaging is sturdy cardboard with a mirror and magnetic closure. This palette contains twelve shades, nine mattes and three metallics. Let’s talk pros and cons!
Pros:
- My favorite color to wear and in general is a grungy green, especially with a yellow undertone, so clearly I love this color story.
- The mattes are creamy and soft. They’re effortless to blend and build up. I experienced no fallout from any of them.
- The metallics are high shine and creamy. Gin On Freeze is especially sparkly. I applied them with my finger and had no issues with fallout.
Cons:
- Since this is a more monochromatic palette, you’re not going to be able to get a ton of different looks from it. This doesn’t personally bother me but it may be worth considering if you’d rather splurge on something with more versatility.
- Garnish and Shaken Not Stirred look too similar on the eyes.
- This is just personal preference, but I would have preferred a couple more metallics instead of so many mattes. I would replace Vermouth Splash and Happy Hour with a light inner corner shade and a deeper, true olive metallic.
Swatches & Shade Descriptions:
These eyeshadows do have names but no shade descriptions on the website so I will describe them to the best of my ability. I’ll be going from left to right, top row to bottom row. These photos were taken with flash to show off the sparkle.
- With A Twist– matte mustard yellow with a green undertone
- Garnish– metallic midtone apple green with a gold reflect
- Vermouth Splash– matte apple green
- Vodkatini– matte light olive
- Dry Martini– matte green
- Shaken Not Stirred– metallic deep olive with a gold reflect
- Happy Hour– matte lime green
- Dirty Martini– matte deep army green
- Cheers– matte olive
- Gin On Freeze– metallic olive with gold reflect and sparkle
- Stuffed Olive– matte deep olive
- Cocktails– matte blackened green
Eyeshadow Looks:
I created two looks using this palette. They are similar to each other since this is a smaller, monochrome palette but I’m still happy with each. I don’t typically wear an eye primer but I do set my base with a skin tone colored eyeshadow.
- I blended Happy Hour throughout my crease.
- I blended Vermouth Splash into my crease.
- I deepened my crease with Dry Martini.
- I applied Garnish over the majority of my lid.
- I applied Gin On Freeze on my inner lid and corner.
- I applied Cocktails on my water line.
- I smudged Shaken Not Stirred on my lower lash line.
- I blended With A Twist into my inner and outer crease.
- I blended Cheers throughout the rest of my crease.
- I blended Stuffed Olive lightly into Cheers. I also smudged it on my lower lash line.
- I applied Shaken Not Stirred on my lid.
- I applied Vodkatini topped with Gin On Freeze in my inner corner.
- I smudged Dirty Martini on my lower lash line.

Final Thoughts:
It’s been years since I tried a palette from Give Me Glow and I am very pleased with this one. I hope that they keep it around because it provides an excellent variety of greens at a really good price. I have my eye on a few of their other palettes so let me know what I should try next!
