NYX Intense Butter Gloss Review

I know I’ve been putting out NYX lip product reviews pretty constantly but so many of them are on sale right now and I don’t want you to miss out on any of the great deals. I know before I buy anything I like to see reviews and swatches so I’m trying my hardest to get all the sale stuff that I’ve bought reviewed. I had heard great things about NYX’s Intense Butter Glosses so I decided to pick up one set of them. I bought Set 2 for $6.00 and that included three glosses. These glosses are usually $6.50 a piece (many of them are on sale individually right now as well).

Set 2 included the shades: Sorbet, Tres Leches and Chocolate Crepe. The shade names are in the same order as the swatches in the picture above. Sorbet is a very white based, pink color that did not look flattering on me at all. Tres Leches and Chocolate Crepe were both beautiful, neutral colors that I think would flatter most people.

I did not care for the formula of these glosses. They were pretty sticky and would look clumpy on the lips unless I blotted them. Sorbet looked clumpy and streaky even after blotting. Tres Leches and Chocolate Crepe were both very opaque to be just a gloss. Since these are just glosses, however, they’re not long wearing but I wouldn’t expect them to be.

I would not purchase these again even if they were on sale. It’s not that they were that bad I just know of better glosses for cheaper. I’m trying out the NYX Butter Gloss (review coming soon) and I much prefer it over these. I also love any of Burt’s Bees’ lipglosses and tinted lip balms and those are around the same price, if not cheaper. If you’ve tried these before let me know what you think about them! Thank you for reading and have a great day!
