My Current Favorite Lip Gloss: NYX Butter Gloss Review

Over the past few weeks I’ve reviewed NYX’s Matte LipsticksTurnt Up! LipsticksSoft Matte Lip Creams and their Intense Butter Glosses. I’ve also previously reviewed their Extra Creamy Lipstick and Lip Balm. My goal is to work my way through all of their lip products, of which there are many. If you want to try any of these, now is a great time because NYX has them on sale for super cheap. They also have their regular Butter Glosses on sale and I bought two bundled together sets of them, Set 6 and Set 10. Each set has three Butter Glosses for $6.00. The Butter Glosses are usually $5.00 a piece, you can also buy some of them on sale right now for $3.50.

Set 6

Set 6 consists of: Angel Food Cake, Red Velvet and Raspberry Tart. The picture of the swatches and the three pictures of me are in the same order as the shade names. Angel Food Cake is a neutral pink color and is my favorite of the three. Red Velvet is a bright red that has a bit of a berry tint. Raspberry Tart is a light purple but on my lips it looks more pink because it is so sheer. Angel Food Cake and Red Velvet were much more pigmented than Raspberry Tart.

Set 10

Set 10 consists of: Strawberry Cheesecake, Ginger Snap and Devil’s Food Cake. The picture of the swatches and the three pictures of me are in the same order as the shade names. Strawberry Cheesecake is a mid-tone pink. Ginger Snap is a mid-tone brown. Devil’s Food Cake is a darker, berry color. I really loved all three of these. The only one I had an issue with was Devil’s Food Cake and that’s only because it was bit more streaky than the other two. I’ve noticed a lot of NYX’s darker lip products tend to be streaky and patchy.

These are some of the most comfortable lip glosses I have ever worn. I liked them much better than the Intense Butter Glosses. They’re not as intensely pigmented as the Intense Butter Glosses but they’re also not as sticky and clumpy. In fact, I didn’t notice that any of these felt sticky or got clumpy on my lips no matter how long I wore them for. Of course, since these are just glosses they’re not long wearing. I used Angel Food Cake over my e.l.f. Matte Lipstick in Praline and it was gorgeous so they definitely wear well over lipsticks.

I can’t recommend these enough, even at the full price of $5.00 each. I would go stock up on any of the shades you like right now while they’re so cheap. By the end of the week I’ll be reviewing NYX’s Liquid Suede Metallic Matte Lipsticks and the Liquid Suede Cream Lipsticks (these are buy one, get one free right now, by the way). That should be the last of the lip product reviews for awhile. It’s not everything NYX has to offer but it’s pretty close, haha. Let me know if you’ve tried these before and what you think! Thanks for reading and have a great day!
