Eyeshadow Palettes & Singles That I Regret Buying

There isn’t anything much worse than regret. It especially sucks when you regret something because you wasted money on it. I like to think of myself as a very “cautious” shopper. I try to only buy things I really want and only then when I can get a good deal but I am not immune to impulse purchases. Lipsticks and eyeshadows are two of the main things that I buy. I decluttered my lipsticks and didn’t think to take pictures of what I was getting rid of. I can tell you all lip products by Wet n Wild and Colourpop went into the trash and basically all of my matte lipsticks. Those just aren’t formulas that I like. I thought I would, however, show you which eyeshadows that I’m just not in love with. Most of these I am keeping for one reason or another which I will talk about below.

I bought these two beauties, Jungle Roar and Charlie Girl, from Coastal Scents when they first released for $5.00 apiece. I don’t regret these because of the amount of money I spent, I regret buying them because I just don’t use them. I use maybe four shades out of each which is why I haven’t did a full review like I did for my other Coastal Scents palettes. I can tell you that the formula of these is excellent. They’re so smooth and creamy. I highly recommend them if you’re into bright colors but sadly, I am not. I am keeping these because I love the formula so much.

I wanted to love NYX’s Cosmic Metals Shadow Palette so much but I just don’t. It’s $10.00 so not the most expensive but it’s pricey for what it is. This palette is so dry. It swatches beautifully but when I use it on my eyes it’s just straight glitter with not much pigment. When I do use this it’s as an eyeshadow topper and I’m keeping it for that.

These two palettes I have reviewed before. The Wet n Wild Not a Basic Peach was awful and I am getting rid of it. The Colourpop Yes Please palette isn’t bad, it’s just not great either. I much prefer the Coastal Scents palette formulas over Colourpop’s formula. I am keeping this because it has shades unique to my collection but I don’t reach for it often.

I’m not big into eyeshadow singles so that’s the number one reason these were a mistake to purchase. The NYX Singles are around $4.50 apiece and while they’re not bad quality, they’re not worth that price. The Glamour Dolls Cosmetics singles are $3.00 apiece and they’re just okay. To be honest, I’m not really impressed with anything I’ve tried from the brand but maybe that will change in the future. I know that the Colourpop Super Shock Shadows are very popular but I just don’t like the texture of the shadow or how it applies, especially not for $5.00 apiece. I’m not sure if I’m keeping all or any of these.

That’s all of my eyeshadow regrets, for now anyways. I have also regretted just about every palette I’ve purchased from BH Cosmetics but I’ve talked about that before so I left those out. Do you have any makeup purchase regrets? Is there certain products that you tend to impulse buy? I’d love to know! Thanks for reading and have a great day!
