L.A. Girl Haul with Full Reviews: Concealer, Blush, Eye Lux Eyeshadow, Gel Glide Eyeliner & Lipify Stylo Lipsticks

L.A. Girl is one of those brands that I always overlook when I’m shopping for some reason. The only product I’ve reviewed from them before is one of their color correctors. I decided I wanted to try out a decent amount of what they had to offer and see if there were any hidden gems. I’m happy to say that there were so let’s get into the reviews!

HD Pro Concealer

Shade Porcelain

The HD Pro Concealer is $5.00 and available in 43 shades, some of those are color correctors and highlighters. You get 0.28 ounces of product and mine is in the shade Porcelain. Porcelain is a light shade with a very yellow undertone. This shade matches me okay but not perfectly. It’s about half a shade too dark and much too yellow toned. I just really disliked this concealer. I HATE the applicator. It’s a brush tip that gets super hard over time because of the product being in it. It’s definitely my least favorite style of applicator. I also didn’t feel this had good coverage. I do have acne and scarring but I’m not sure this would even cover much on someone with minimal darkness/redness. I don’t recommend this and suggest either the e.l.f. 16hr Camo Concealer or the BH Cosmetics Total Coverage Concealer.

Just Blushing Powder

Top to bottom: Just Glowing, Just Radiant, Just Because & Just Fearless

The Just Blushing Powders are $6.00 apiece. I own the shades Just Glowing, Just Radiant, Just Because and Just Fearless. All of these blushes are very creamy, buildable and have little fall out but the pigmentation varies between them.

Just Glowing

Just Glowing is a peachy shade with subtle gold shimmer. It goes onto the skin not overly pigmented but it is noticeable. I did have to build it up to get it to the pigmentation that I like for my blush. The shimmer actually wasn’t as noticeable as I wanted it to be but that might be a good thing for some people.

Just Radiant, the shimmer is from my highlighter.

Just Radiant is a pink shade with subtle gold shimmer. This blush is VERY subtle. I had to dig and dig into the pan to build up the color at all. I definitely don’t recommend this one to anybody with a deeper skin tone that mine. The shimmer was also not very noticeable. If you want a very subtle pink blush with a little bit of glow than this would be a good one for you.

Just Fearless

Just Fearless is an intense, matte maroon shade. I’m going to be honest and say that I was not fearless when I tried Just Fearless, lol. This blush is not for the faint of heart. It is a VERY intense shade and unlike the others, it requires no building up. I had to really work to sheer it out on my skin but deeper skin tones would love this one. It is a beautiful and unique shade so I’m glad to have it for my more creative looks.

Just Because is a matte taupe shade and I do not have a picture of it on my skin because I’m still trying to figure out the best way to use it. It’s a matte taupe, so not technically a blush. I bought it to try as a contour but I’m just not sure it’s going to work for my skin tone. I tried using it as an eyeshadow and it just blended away into nothing. If you have a fair and cool toned complexion than this one might be a great contour shade for you. I’m going to keep trying to find a use for it.

Overall, I think this is a good blush formula. I wasn’t amazed by it but it’s worth the price.

Eye Lux Eyeshadow Quad

There are six different eyeshadow quads available for $6.00 apiece. I bought the quad in Idolize. I bought this quad for the sole reason of taking it on vacation next month. Its’ compact size will take up much less space than a palette. I plan to use it with my Covergirl trio in Shimmering Sands; I’ve been trying this out and they work beautifully together. The eyeshadows included in this quad are cool toned. I do love cool toned eyeshadows but I struggled with the darkest brown shade looking ashy on me, however, this is pretty common with eyeshadows that color. All of the eyeshadows performed very well. They were creamy, had little fall out and blended easily. They’re not the most pigmented but they build up nicely and the shimmers really look beautiful wet. My only true complaint is I wish the taupe shimmer was a matte. The cream and dark brown shades are mattes while the taupe and bronze shades are shimmers. I did use the taupe in my crease and it worked fine. I’m curious to try more L.A. Girl eyeshadows and I do recommend this little quad.

*In the eyeshadow look above I used the taupe shade in the crease, dark brown shade in the outer V, and the bronze shade on the lid with the taupe shade mixed into it.

Gel Glide Eyeliner

The Gel Glide Eyeliners are $4.00 apiece and I bought the shade Metallic Copper. I really like this eyeliner. I’m wearing it on my lower lash line in the picture above. It’s an orange shade with gold shimmer. I didn’t notice it fading or smudging throughout the day but with a shade like this it can be harder to see it smudging than say with a black. My only complaint is that it is pretty crumbly during application and if I was using a black or dark brown I think that would really make a mess. I think these eyeliners are worth trying but just use caution when choosing a color.

Lipify Stylo Lipstick

The Lipify Sylo Lipsticks are $6.00 apiece. I bought the shades Teddy and Superstitious. In the pictures and swatches above, Teddy is on the left and Superstitious is on the right. Teddy is a mid-tone mauve shade and Superstitious is a cool toned greige shade. Both lipsticks swatch darker than they actually look on my lips. These lipsticks have a very creamy formula that does dry down on the lips to almost a matte finish. They will transfer and wear away while eating and drinking but I think they fade very nicely. They do leave a slight stain on the lips. My main complaint with these lipsticks is the packaging. It is TERRIBLE! Once you roll out the lipstick, you can’t roll it back down. The shape of the actual lipstick makes it very hard to get a precise application as well. I don’t regret buying these but I doubt I’ll buy more.

That’s everything I’ve tried from L.A. Girl as of right now. Is there anything from them that I need to try? Let me know! Thanks for reading and have a great day!

  1. Nice post! I really dislike that LA Girl concealer as well, the finish is not flattering at all and I don’t it covers anything as well! I should try other things from the brand though!

I have one of their concealers. I got the shade Buff, which ended up being way too light under my eyes but perfect for highlighting. I find this concealer too dry under my eyes anyway. I also got one of their new Fanatic palettes in Get Feverish. I like it but still playing with it before I do a full review on my blog.
